Trimmed up a new body, is it bad I kinda like it now. Absolutely hated it the first time I saw it years ago.

I think it's just one of those things you get used to. Obviously not the coolest body ever, but it's not that bad.

Yup, it's still quite horrible looking. The saying "has a face only a mother can love" fits it, and all others like it, perfectly

Went to my almost local hobby shop this morning, to fetch a kit, and put my Nichimo Spirit FF on display with a few printed parts in a dedicated shelf, with a pdf printed on a side with a QR code to display my Cults3D page...
Image

This hobby shop is really dedicated to vintage RC, and the owner is very happy to show some of my 3D printing work, and I believe this will be an opportunity for any of his customers not having the idea of 3D printing to see by themselves and generate some ideas. He requested me if I can let a printed car in the shop as among his discussions with customers he knows quite a few looking for parts and possibilities to repair their old cars...

Also tried to plastic weld the rear fender on my promoto. Just used a heat gun and soldering iron. We will see if it holds up.

Over this past weekend. Whitened and rehydrated nylon parts, stripped the very faded blue anodize and repainted the motor plate and guard for my brother's Blue Eagle LS.

Took a look at some pics and compared the tire on a JC Racing wheel to the tire on what I am assuming to be an HPI Super Star wheel.

This will be of interest to almost no-one, but I bought a Hyper Go 14301 RC truck for my brother since he damaged his Marui Galaxy. I wanted him to have something modern and durable to bash around with.

The frequent issue with these Chinese RC's, though they're actually quite well-built otherwise, is they often ship with little to no grease or lubrication in the diffs, gears and shocks. I found that to be exactly the case with this one. Both front & rear diffs had almost no grease inside whatsoever, barely enough to get my fingers sticky. The rear gear box similarly had scant little grease. Unfortunately, wrenching on this car to get at the gearboxes and remove the diffs is quite a chore, they were clearly not designed to be easily maintained. I applied a proper amount of marine grease and I'm halfway done reassembling everything. The shocks seem fine, luckily.

Cut out a JC body for a RC10GT I‘m working on!

Couldn’t decide on how to make the cutout for the head. Seems like it will always look kind of odd…
Also haven’t quite settled on a paint scheme but I‘ve got some ideas in mind.
I‘ll have plenty of time to make up my mind because I’m still missing some parts for this thing

I think this is going to be a neat lookin‘ truck with the gold shock bodies + head and the chunky Trinity tires 8)

I added some threaded holes to the slipper hubs on a couple of the runners so I can 3 screw mount the spurs. I've been torture testing one of the brushless converted GT and so far the spur is staying tight. I think the standard 2 screw mounting lets the spur rock and loosen the screws.
