I am not 100% sure but in the ESC picture, middle right looks like it might be an LRP unit (if it’s an ICS unit, they are desirable).XXWoodmanXX wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 12:25 pm Picked up these vintage ESC and Servo lots off Ebay for $50 shipped for the two (arriving today). Yeppers. It's a v7.1 and is fully functional. Was missing the Limiting module, but I have a few of those.Toaster wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 7:56 pmI am not 100% sure but in the ESC picture, middle right looks like it might be an LRP unit (if it’s an ICS unit, they are desirable).XXWoodmanXX wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 12:25 pm Picked up these vintage ESC and Servo lots off Ebay for $50 shipped for the two (arriving today). The other LRP is an AI SuperReverse, and it works as well.
A bunch of these need some wiring redone before I can safely test them out. My plan for this weekend.
As for the Servo lot, I'd say about 80% of these are fully functional and have no stripped gears, no noise/jittering. Some were old skool hi-speed Airtronics!
All-in-all, a stellar deal.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
So LRP came up with an alternative to the old current-limiting dial (like some Novak MegaFET/HyperFETs had) and they came up with a simple plug-in style module. Basically it was a 'jumper' configuration to 4 pins on the ESC body that had limiting modules rated for 30, 50, 65, 80, 120 amp limiting/programing plugs (see blue modules in picture). Installing no module at all utilizes the ESC's full potential.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 7:31 amWhat is the limiting module? Personally, I like the old pot dial myself.

I never had any trouble with potentiometers, but I can see why LRP would think this would be a more reliable solution. In theory, subjecting a potentiometer to the dirt and vibration of offroad racing is not ideal.

Right. And, if my memory serves me correctly, I believe there is a blank module with no value on it that was simply a dust cover for the jumper port. I have a Sealed NIB v7.1 ESC that I'm not willing to open and verify however. LOL

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Well... I apprehensively made an ebay purchase from a seller in Taiwan and I am happy to report that it went well. I feel I paid a good price but didn't see the part about possibility of import duties and such until after I had made the purchase, needless to say I have been waiting for extra charges to hit. Evidently there are no extra duties on rc cars.
Cheers!
