Dangeruss wrote: Fri May 24, 2024 8:23 pm Is there a workaround for posting links with .webp file extensions? The insert image button doesn't seem to get along with Webp images.

The fix is for me to add it as a supported image extension in which I just did. I tested it out, and it works great. Enjoy! :)

Thank you! That's what I was wondering. Very appreciated. :D

...now eBay images and google heavy sites can be linked directly once again.

You're welcome. :) I thought that image extension was already enabled by default, but come to find out I had to add it manually.

Just be mindful that if you're trying to hotlink images from other sites, they sometimes won't display depending on the sites security practices. For example, it appears eBay doesn't allow the hotlinking of their WebP images as I just tried it to see.

Well... darn. :(

Can have archive.org take a snapshot of the image then hotlink from their site but that's not any easier than just posting a screenhot... :?

Yeah, hotlinking is a generally frowned upon practice so a lot of sites block it, I know we do. Still though, the WebP image format is becoming increasingly popular as time goes by so it's a good idea to make it allowable here. For example, if someone wanted to post an eBay image as an attachment, they would have to first convert it, now they don't have to.

If there's a 35 post minimum to access the B/S/T section, what about a 1 post minimum in order to access any section outside of the welcome center?

Mandatory introduction, keeps people from putting sale posts where they don't belong. Just thinking out loud by the way...

Not like... pointing a finger at anyone.... 👇

As good as an idea it is, it's too involved to set up in relation to how infrequently it happens. It would also likely cause me to receive a lot of messages about it from annoyed members. I get enough as it is about the 30 post rule.

When it happens, click the 'Report this post' button and we'll be notified. The culprits who do it, usually don't return once they realize their post was deleted anyway as they never had the intention to actually use the site.

Ah, I thought it happened more often. Sorry to hear you catch flack over the 30 post rule... shellfish people, they never know when to clam up.

The problem lies with the entire B/S/T section being viewable to guests which it really shouldn't be. People see it, and create an account just to use it, and then get upset when they can't. Sometimes instead, they'll post their item(s) for sale outside of it like yesterday. I've been meaning to change it as it's fairly easy to, and in the next few days I will. :)

It says that member actually created an account 2 yrs ago, yesterday was just the first post on the site.

Alright, I just made it so that guests can no longer see the entire B/S/T section. That should help alleviate those who create accounts with the sole intention of using it as they won't even know it exists.

That's very cool... Log in, B/S/T section, logout and *poof* the whole section disappears... nice. 👌
