Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
A couple of motors and ESCs from Frankentruck, and a new driver for my Hilux. This stuff always gets me about Tamiya! You can order this driver from any Tamiya RC retailer today, and it will be the exact same driver that came in your 1981 Hilux 42 years ago!! Weird that my digital Hilux manual doesn't show the driver tree coming with a helmet head, but my actual Hilux had a helmet head dude in it. Its just weird (and good) that Tamiya recycles so much of their old school stuff.
EDIT: had a closer look at the parts tree, and it is actually embossed "1981." This tree was designed for the Hilux specifically (Tamiya Mod# 58028) 42 years ago, and you can buy it from retailers still to this day.

I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Finally scored a Race Prep motor for the case. Listed as used but it's never been soldered

This thing…
I wasn’t in the market for a Shogun but it was too cheap to pass up
I really like the Marui cars looks wise but prefer the competition type cars.
I think this one will go on the trade stock shelf.

Got this cool Sanwa AM receiver.
Its the only 27mhz receiver that I've seen that was finicky about the channel. I tried the common #2, 4, and 5, and it didn't like any of them.
Luckily, I have some odd channel crystals as well. When I matched up the 26.975 (US channel 7, wherever channel 1) crystal that it came with, it was perfectly smooth.

This seemed like a cool little gadget. It continuously scans the frequency range and marks what it finds.

Some nice little freebies (just paid postage) from a friend interstate...
Nice to be able to use everything, for a change!
Bumper goes on one of the TT01 projects, servo mounts go in the Comical Hotshot box for the eventual build, and the LED holders, from a Tamiya R32 Skyline, will be put to use in a non-Tamiya Skyline body build I have. F103L wing will be given to a mate who races F1, if he can use it.Nice to be able to use everything, for a change!

I came across an unusual motor. I didn't realize Tomy made any high grade RC stuff. There was also a Tomy 4wd that went for $600. I didn't go for that one.
