I was kinda hoping for a mechanical speed control, just to REALLY separate the boys from the men...

geeze you guys are dedicated, wont catch me ordering until more info comes out.

I can ask that you guys who are on the inside track with the info coming out share it with the rest of us.

I would have no clue of the happenings about the re re if not for you guys.

I'm with ya bro - I want to order one for sure but want more details first. If its a 6-gear, I'm not as excited to be honest. BUT - since it is pre-drilled for stealth as you have all said, and we will be able to buy parts for the stealth again, plus get a bearing kit, new tires etc, then I'm pretty stoked and will order one. Just waiting for the official announcement with details on the AE site I guess.

Had more thoughts over lunch, even after I clicked on one sight unseen:

Gotta wonder, 4-40 threaded rod or turnbuckles? (either way, finally Lunsford has no more excuses?)

Damn I wish Tamiya hadn't jacked up that Holiday Buggy re-re. Would've made that tire upgrade more doable.

Wow. I see the 6195 decal sheet is already out..

can you imagine all the griping from the younger crowd about that one? :D

I'm so geeked out right now, I'm trying to figure out what I have to sell to get one of these.

 Now we know where it was made. Those are Chinese flags on the decal sheet.

Edit: Looking closer, it's photoshopped. Can see the stripes under the bottom flag.

CML will definitely have these. Jason is one of the main driving forces behind the idea.

I wonder if there's anyone out there still doubting that this is actually happening? :)

Out of interest the gold pan seen in some pics without a body isn't the original box art car it's a new build CE which Romulus brought along to show his machined stealth casings which are uber cool.

There was no rere example at the show.

more rumors...just cause it stirs the pot :)
  • yes to jelly beans, 1.9 & 1.5
yes to 6 gear tranny - "upgraded" to handle mild brushless?
    gold chassis - NO stamp
"updated" battery cup, to accept lipo out of the box
all parts are supposed to be interchangeable with the old cars

The cars on display in the AE booth were not RE-RE, but why announce it, publicize it, say they are kitting them up right now & NOT HAVE ONE TO DISPLAY!!! darn it.

well, if you're gonna make it like you did back in the day, might as well announce it the same way :D How many times did we have to wait on delays of aftermarket parts back then?

It has been tweaked (idler gears and maybe more), but I was told it can handle a modest BL no problem. My vintage 6 gear runs a 3000kv motor without any issues so these may handle 4000+.
