I just got a pack of 1/8" E-clips from McMaster-Carr (the best site for R/C car fasteners), a new Hinge pin brace from Factory works, and set of front outer hinge pins for my LXT.

A nice Composite Craft chassis RC10 showed up. The only real bummer is that 4 extra holes got added for a JRX2 battery cup. I guess I'll get some practice filling holes.

Found this cheap for the Traxxas SRT. Think it'll look better than the black top plate.

And a lot of Kyosho Maxxum FF parts.. This was a really nice score because these are the exact parts I need to restore mine..especially the impossible to find front bumper set.

A big haul today -- well, big for me anyway.

A 993 body and light buckets from Tamico,

A Futaba S3003 and AE caster blocks from a couple trusted eBay sellers,

Some Kimbrough 114 servo savers from Liquid RC.

Another Austar 3-gear transmission.

Someday, I want to try one of these in an off-road buggy - just need to fit drive cups and dog bones of the appropriate length. It includes plastic gears and a slipper clutch.
There's no diff but I believe it'll still work in that application. At 1/5 the cost of a Stealth, I think it's worth a try.

I was actually thinking about the same thing.

I have a old RC10 pan that has been significantly lightened, so I'll never use it for any kind of decent car.

I was looking at the mini e revo universals that you used, thinking that they'd probably work okay with RC10 arms and Traxxas carriers.

Then use a 10T nose and bulkhead, with Bandit arms and steering.

I really dig it, looks to be a nicely appointed piece. Are those MIP shock bodies ?

I'm not familiar with MIP shocks. I was assuming they were black plastic cap gold body RC10 shocks that had been refinished black . I like the lightened outdrives and old school titanium turnbuckles. Maybe Associated turnbuckles?

So far, the Mini E-Revo universals are working fine in the Porsche. I should note that the universal's inputs are 4mm ID while the Austar's output shafts are 5mm. I simply chucked the universals in the lathe and ran a 5mm drill bit through them. The drive pin hole aligns very nicely with the hole in the transmission's output shaft so no modification was needed there. The supplied screw pin fits the hole as well.

The universal shaft assembly is 10.3mm diameter at the largest point and the axle requires an 8mm ID inner bearing and a 4mm ID outer bearing and they are spaced 8.9mm outside to outside. As you probably already know, all of Traxxas 1/16 trucks use pillow ball carriers which aren't going to fit RC10 arms. Which carriers were you thinking about using?

I'll probably look at Bandit universals, they are 5mm on each end. Might have to shorten them a little bit.
