I tried this before but it's a couple 100 pages back so I'm trying it again with the new blood around here. Last time somebody mentioned it might be mugen 1/8 scale aluminum a arms but I could not really find anything on them.. figured that it would be easy with the upright configuration but I was wrong. Lol

Here's another part I haven't been able to ID....ball diff for something using dogboes/drive shafts with ~8mm hexes on the ends. It's metric, 12mm at the widest bit, then 8mm on the shaft, and 6mm for the ID of the diff rings.

#$%^ing finally! For 4 years I've been trying to ID this diff. :x

Son of a....now I don't know again. They could also be parts from the Nodis Frog diff.

Wasn’t that what the mag ad was selling -(couldn’t see a brand name), Subaru brat, frog, Blackfoot, monster bettle etc all had the same gear boxes after all , nodis may have had a dog bone out drive option as well as the standard hex bones.

Thorp did both the standard and dog bone options as well as full dog bone conversion sets

If the one you have doesn't have a tufnol (orange brown papery) gear, it's not the nodis setup, it's the other one.

The first ad was from Hobby World from Hong Kong. Nodis was from the UK. The first clipping came from a US mag advertisement, the second a "what's new" type column from a UK mag. Both are dated 1984.

What threw me off about the parts being for a Frog diff was that they needed 8mm ID bearings, while the stock Frog drive cups (and the Thorp diff) used 5mm ID bearings. Also lots of 1/8 cars used hex bones BITD. RC500 bones will work with this diff.

Given the lot I got the parts in, it's very possible/likely that the tufnol gear, and pressure plates were missing. I also think there should be a thrust bearing involved.

There's a couple of mystery center plunger tools in my grab bag of tools. Any idea what these are for? I'm sure I need them, just don't know why yet. 😁

The bottom one is a pin pusher for pushing pins out of Tamiya connectors. Top one appears to also be a release tool, possibly for the smaller pinned AMPS connectors like AE used
