This site will definitely have played it's part in making the "dream" become reality because, let's face it, the internet is the ultimate free marketing tool for companies. On Tamiyaclub it is a constant topic of debate as to whether that site has influenced Tamiya in what gets the re-release treatment, and it is my firm opinion that it certainly has done although no doubt the main driving force is the Japanese market. It just so happens that when it comes to the nostalgia portfolio the home market consumers want the same things to come back as those in the West do.

What the hell are you guys going to do in the evenings now. No more searching Ebay for "Vintage RC10"
All of the awesome aftermarket parts companies made for the RC10 back in the day aren't going to be re-re'd. Especially not the ones from the companies that no longer exist. ;)

It was unveiled about 24 hours ago, all that is known so far is what is in this thread and that is word of mouth. Time will tell what is included.

If I have to buy a $16 bearing set that will not be a deal breaker for me

Was thinking about this a lot yesterday evening. I have actually decided not to preorder, at least until I have seen some more specifics. I'm not going to drop $250 sight-unseen. And if I miss out because of that decision, well, then I still have my CE's.

I will, however, be ordering a couple sets of wheels and tires when they become available...

I was thinking the same thing, but If for some reason, I were to miss out, I would be afraid of the E-bay prices down the road!!

It's no good.....I'm a dedicated Losi guy but I still want one.......I keep telling myself 'no' but I might just have to give in and get one.....

When can we Brits expect to see them 'over here'....?

Also, rather than AE release a limited number of kits - which they may do - I hope that they make it available for a limited amount of time, say one year. Then everyone who wants to order one can do so without the worry of missing out.....but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I don't think they would make XXXXX kits as the cost to make new molds just wouldn't justify the investment. I also can't see them selling out the initial batch and not making another batch if they are good sellers.

Looking forward to seeing more RC-10s on the tracks now. Maybe Losi will re-re the JRX2 now, and Jeep will re-re the 1986 CJ-7 ! Sorry, it got away from me.. Back to RC-10 RE-RE excitement.

Pretty crappy if they can't include a bearing kit for $250!

That depends entirely on whether CML wants to import them in the first place, and then how long it takes the shipping container to get over here by sea. Contacting CML directly is the easiest way of finding out.

At the very least I'd expect AE will change the gears to 48p. And if they do the smaller tooth size would make it pretty easy to knock one or two teeth off the idler and top gears and add one or two to the outdrive gear bringing the drive ratio well over 2:1.

Though that would almost certainly mean that you couldn't use those new gears in an old case. :?

The trans will be interesting. If they are saying 6 gear and bl compatible it will be interesting for sure. No slipper....people are gonna have to learn how to drive again lol
