Sweet deal. I bid on that as well. Was going to place a high bid at the last minute but decided not to, since I recently picked one up. Good to hear it's in nice shape.

Our mail carrier was very nice to me today. New (very cheap) motor and ESC (60A, 4300kv 4-pole motor), bearings, steering arms, RPM ball cups, RC10B3 slipper clutch parts, a new super nifty battery/receiver/ESC tray.
Still got a bunch of parts coming to get crackin on this little gem. Some of you have chimed in on my introduction thread and it's been great talking to you all, looking forward to chatting with more of you. When I get to work on it maybe I'll start a build thread.

Nice haul! For the bellcranks, ball cups, and front shock tower, pay attention to clearance for steering and front suspension motion.

Got a few more motors. The 2 old Trinity motors needed a drop of bushing oil but all test as good runners.

Got three NIP Hobbyking brushed esc's. I know that they are cheap, but I got them for really cheap.
EDIT: Just to be clear. I do not recommend these to anyone, regardless of price. Even when they work, they are still troublesome.

Back in the day I loved the speed gems motors from Trinity. I remember having a Ruby, 12 turn double I think and a Sapphire that I can't remember the turns for anymore. Great motors for reasonable coin.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 4:41 pm Got a few more motors. The 2 old Trinity motors needed a drop of bushing oil but all test as good runners.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Got my first Shapeways order ................ a remake of a McAllister lowering kit. I wanted a white kit, but figured shapeways white would probably never get near AE old white so I ordered black. Then while looking up instructions, I randomly ended up on an original kit on ebay, in white!
The original kit will need new arm plates, but I know a guy. I only needed the front, so not having the rear parts is fine.

I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Well, not exactly the postman, but...

Kyosho Plazma LM Carbon Edition in perfect condition. I'll have to find some electronics to get in, add some vinyl under the chassis, and another bodyshell to be able to run it...
And someone loan me a Mugen/Graupner Mercury to model (no pics). I'll have it for a few months, the time I model it.

I buy kits to build and ru(i)n them
