The piece is somewhere on the floor 😑 I can’t find it.

I’m thinking about some CA gel in there might work or some putty that hardens to fill the hole.
Put tape on one side to use as a backing. Fill the hole flush with baking soda and then drip super thin CA glue until it barely makes a slight dome. Let it dry and sand smooth. Peel tape off backside & done.

Doesn't this seem like it should have been in the box with the 40th?

Or at least sent out as a after the fact bonus to those that ordered?

For all the issues I have with the kit, apparently AE hosed hobby shops internationally. They really should figure out how to deliver the kits promised.

Yes, it does. I've foregone the 40th kit. But I really just have to have one of these pins!

If somebody wants a pin, they'll order a pin. Nothing wrong with that. I'm sure there are more pin enthusiasts than we realize. A corkboard just COVERED in commemorative pins. Categorized, alphabetized, and chronologicalized.

you're correct. It's just that it makes you feel like now you need the pin to go w/ your 40th. Drop that pin in your cart when buying that extra set of tires. The way I rationalize it is that people buy art for gazillions of $... to look at it. We get to look, touch, use.. and smell & taste those tires, old parts, and burnt speed controls.

What bearings do you use to replace those felt donuts on the gearbox?

3/8 x 5/8.

Note that you can cause a bind with those as it fights the two bearings in the lower gear. There are a few ways to fix that and it's been covered numerous times so I won't go into it.
