Re: Custom RC10
I cant wait to see the body either. I raced it once with my half-assed body, which didn't turn out so good. In fact I got a cool wing for it so I would fit in with the other racers, which I'm sure will look good with both bodies.
I put my 10t wheels on it for bashing because I realized that on race night I had bent the chassis and nose plate when hitting a concrete wall, which was when I switched to the B4 to race. I didn't notice until days later. I will get that fixed and carry on with racing, but til then the big wheels will stay on and no holding back.
OK, I take the big wheels off for playing in the road.Re: Custom RC10
Iam so chuffed you put this pic on as the gear box i have is the same now i know what i have.vintage AE wrote:thanks. I cant wait to see yours. I thought I would add mine to the old but newer thread,(I know that's not the exact title) but that's getting kinda long. there is a lot of useful info on that thread too. Maybe once I get mine finished I will add some final pics to it... or, start a tribute thread to it. It's been my bible for this ride. There have been some cool custom builds on this site.RichieRich wrote:Nice work. I like it. The chassis coating looks awesome. I also have a similar project going too. I need a few more small parts and I'll start a new thread, I guess.![]()

Re: Custom RC10
not sure what you are saying
funny that a post came up on the thread though, I finally got a hold of the painter that has by B2 body for this yesterday and it should be done in the spring
, not bad considering i gave it to him almost a year ago. I can take those truck wheels off and but my buggy wheel on and start racing it. I couldn't race it with that chopped up old viper body with the paint on the outside, blah

Re: Custom RC10
I have gotten board at work and decided to update this buggy.
I finally got a body painted, not my B2 body, but a protech body, which was painted with the same paint scheme I was going for with the other body.
I got a carbon fiber rear worlds tower from Fibre-lyte, because I think I will be able to angle the shock out more and not be so vertical.
A new motor plate from Reg, the flat iridium finished one. I think it will really go well with the paint and will accommodate the large motor heat sink.
A new blue Novak heat sink, like the black one that is one it, but that one is now smushed together now
And a set of NIP Sees
I will have to see what I got kicking around for tires.
pics coming in a week or two

Re: Custom RC10
I was just running through some things in my head and realized that once I swap out the axles to accommodate my See's, that this buggy is no longer going to be as new as an old but new car anymore
But it's still going to be a kick ass RC10.
Here are the wheels I got off ebay, sorry for the poor ebay quality pics. I am probably going to be running modern rear tires, losi 2.0 step pin tires
I am between running knobby tires in the front
possibly these ones http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300409771791&_trkparms=tab%3DWatching#ht_500wt_928, but not sure if this tire is wide enough, or Proline wide 5 reinforced ribs, which might be a bit harder to find.

Re: Custom RC10 update (June 8, 2010)
I'm finally home and have an opportunity to work on some of my buggies.
I got my rear shock tower, motor plate, B4 tops drive assembly, new motor heat sink, springs, oh and my new body
Thanks rod for hooking me up with a painter, since my painter bailed and took my B2 body
cant wait to slam this protech body and slide those heat sink fins thought some small slits I'm going to make in the back of the body

Re: Custom RC10
Got my See's yesterday
I NEED a set of RC10 CVD axles to make my rear wheels fit, so if anyone has a pair they are willing to part with I will gladly buy them from you. I just placed an old rear axle in place to see how it would look.
I'll add the final pics of the complete body with decals and all 4 wheels after I get the rear axles.

Re: Custom RC10
The traxxas front tires look great. I've been thinking about getting a set of those. As you know the 2.1 fronts are hard to find. Thanks for posting the pics, nice to see those tires on a RC10.
IMHO - they are much better than those giant tires you were using
