Spectacular with the wheels (pretty sure they're a set of Advance mini-mags) your offset tub car sitting here (sparce time) has those on the rear as well-

Those wheels look so much better. Love that paint job on the body.

Thanks Reg, these wheels radically changed it for sure and it now finally has a proper LTO look. It seems to me that the offset tub has the MRC Grand Prix tires on the rear (although the front ones) mounted on dyed Proline wheels. But you should know better as I still haven't seen it in person  no hurry there though.

Thank you Jim. The body is really nice but has seen better days, I hate how it is cut on the front.

I still have some technical problems with the car and especially when it comes to suspension. The rear end would never bottom down totally as the Raborn sliders are fully closed half way down and prevent the car from touching the ground. The rear cage also prevents me from mounting the rear tie rods in the upper inner position on the rear bulkhead. The only possibility being the outer bottom position, and that causes a lot of camber when arms travel up and down.
On the front the Cheetah castor wedges helped a lot but I'm still not happy with the way the suspension behaves.
I would love to see a manual for these cars and the tricks used to make them work properly.

Finally, this car is so heavy, I am not sure it could run more than 2 minutes with period electronics, even with 7 cells.

I don't think they are Mini-Mags. They're very similar to some aluminum wheels I have that fit Yokomo and Dominator hubs... although mine are different diameters/widths. Besides the hubs being different than Mini-Mag hubs, the wheels on Asso_Man's car have grooves for mounting rubber tires, and have 12 holes in the wheel pattern instead of 8.

But regardless of who made them they look awesome. Gratz again.

That car looked good before, but it's extra special now. Nothing tops off a sprint car build more than alloy wheels wrapped in MRC GP tires, IMO.

Could those wheels be early RD Enterprises/Bart's?

It definitely radically changed its look just with the wheels. I've been on the hunt for such a nice set for years. I have no clue who made them either. Tires are glued and the rims do have grooves. They use mini mag adapters. The machining job is awesome and nicely finished. Would love to find out...

Are you sure? The hubs for the wheels I have are very close to Mini-Mag hubs but there's a small difference in the spacing of the screw holes (about half a screw width) and the bit of hub that rests inside the wheel's center hole is larger than on the Mini-Mag hubs.

Well, now that you question it I will have to check it out. I have a set of Mini-Mags I can compare with tonight. Will post pics.
