I'm almost done, just a few small details to work out
I'm a little behind on the build. . . So many cool parts I can't make up my mind what to use.

It will probably end up basically like this but with an original short front tower, tecnacraft turnbuckles, and red wheels to match the body better.
Is the large front bumper legal for racing?

you'll probably want to use a small front bumper. if you nose dive off of jumps, that big bumper will end up digging into the ground and make you wreck, instead of being able to possibly drive out of it.

just my $.02.

heres my rpm ultra molded buggy for the nats. it's alot meaner than i thought it was going to be.

and it ends up i just wasnt pushing down hard enough to get the maxamps lipo to 'click' in place.

Geez Hoopty, for someone who says he's never raced before, it looks like you've built yourself a pretty serious racing machine. Color me intimidated.

Almost done.
First up is the jrx-2: tecnacraft HD turnbuckles, rpm front arms, ball bearing steering, basically stock everything else. The rear wheels are trinity 2.2 with kyosho tires, and the lower links are spaced inboard at the hub carrier with a 4-40 nut below the ball for tire clearance. I'll probably get more modern rubber all around closer to the race. It says novak all over the body, so I may switch speedos with the x-T below just so things match I think the wing looks much better now with some stickers. It needs shock rebuilding, and I've got to figure out gearing. I used the newer style battery box. I cut down the front lower lip, this lets the fatter modern cells sit farther forward, so the pack fits. The cells are 3800's, I don't have anything newer than that to test out fitment. Next is the Jrx-T. This is my full RPM conversion truck, with way too many aftermarket parts. Still needs a little work, the body needs a wing and some crack repair, Motor needs to be swapped out for a modern stocker, and the rats nest of wires needs to be organized beter. Servo is a hitec 625mg, no problems turning the wide offset wheels. It just makes it inside the 13" legal width limit. when did they stop making gp3300's? (I think I may need to pick up a couple battery packs before the event) That's what I'll be running, I'm sure I'll bring a couple other cars for show and tell although I can only fit so much into my little VW.
