The current improvement of the project, I designed the motor plate to be sure about the dimensions of each slot.
Now I could machin safely a NIP motor plate...

Thank you for posting this; I don't have a rear shock strut and Tower doesn't sell them anymore, so I can use this to cut my own.

cedric, i have a question about your front spindles and the losi aluminum axles up front. did you notice any play between the axle and the spindle? i'm asking because i have put the same axles in the same spindle that you have. and, i had to slightly shave the outter lip of the spindle so that the axle recess could do it's job of holding the wheel bearings in place(i noticed that you didn't shave yours, in the photos. which will have the bearings riding up on the spindle's lip, instead of the axle's recess). also i had to slightly enlarge the spindle's hole for the axle. with that done i have up and down movement in the axle now. the inside diameter of the losi kingpin hole is larger than associated's aluminum kingpin hole. this obivously is the reason for the movement, and not the modifcations i have done to the spindle.

I know this is an older thread, but could you advise me on the spacing of the slots on the motor plate? Were these done with a ball end mill? Also, did you ever finish the front shock tower? I would love to see a dimensioned drawing of both these parts.

YES!!!!!!

One more step down in this project, the motor plate was finally machined.
Tomorrow, Iwill finish to work on and build the transmission, stay tuned

That's a long project, but I'm confident to finish it before 2010...

Before securing the plate on the transmission, I have to finish the machining process.
Rising the lower edge of the plate (just under the two holes to secure the plate to the chassis).
Cutting the motor guard area.
