I'll be by tomorrow afternoon if anyone is free. If not, no biggie. I know you're busy racing. I'll shoot you a message Jeff. If anyone is free it'd be cool to say hi.

Just finished watching todays event on youtube. It was fun to see everyone enjoying the vintage stuff. Surface seemed like brown colored asphalt with the amount of traction there was. It was awesome to see lots of the old school pros racing again and boy, they still do make it look easy. Greg Hodapp was really fast and smooth and the Dunbar tribute was very nice. Overall competition level seemed pretty high.

Yeah the track surface is like a dragstrip with the sealed surface. The layout is awesome. The surface is quite a challenge and super tricky to get right.
Long days though with so many entries. Really cool to see these guys you've seen in magazines just hanging out in the pits. Chatting them up is pretty wild.
Joel Johnson was standing there when I walked up to the staging area and we chatted for a bit. SUPER cool dude, experience I won't soon forget. Hoping to chat up more of the legends tomorrow.

Definitely call me, maybe repeatedly. It's loud in there. Man I wish you guys could come back into the pits, the legends are so killer and mostly laid back. Everyone has been overly nice to chat with and never once felt like you were wasting their time. We were chatting outside with some people and others would walk up and you'd be talking and see their name badge and it's like omg I was just talking to xxxxxx! Holy chit!
Bob Stormer took me out for White Castle and ice cream but I did help him wrench today. He broke a couple cars and nothing simple with a cougar 2000 or hot trick fox.

Who gets turn marshal duty at these events? Not racers waiting for their next heat, correct?

When you are done with your race you marshal the next race and then blow off the track on your way out.

It's standard at just about any race that you marshal the race after yours, the marshalling points are usually numbered so you go marshal at the point with the same number as on your car.
At big meetings here you usually have scrutineering to check your car over, so when your race finishes you put your car on the scrutineering table and go out to marshal. After that race is finished you go collect your car that's been checked while you were marshalling.
