I thought you were going to paint it in McDonald's livery going by this picture, or maybe Hungry Jack's (Burger King).

I don’t know why I thought one can was enough

bloody rookies.
Kind of annoying that I can't finish painting the main color at least.

Well, after a week outside in the wind rain and snow..... ok, maybe not the snow part....... but a pretty good lightning and thunder storm instead, the most yellowed of the rims finally turned white

Crap, I think I'm taking a page out of Alex's book.
Since we all like pictures here's when I first took it out of the box....... back in June of 2019

basically the day before I started this thread

Much to my surprise I finally found another can of TS-8 at the only hobby shop I didn't call to ask about a can
I've sprayed 2 more coats and it is taking on a nice rich color. I will give it another light sand before the final coat of red, then I can start detailing it before clear coat.
While the red paint was drying I put this together... very happy so far.....

Finished up a bit of detail all ready for clear coat, hopefully the clear spray doesn't react with anything

I will "dust" the body a few times first to lock in the Sharpie.
Once the clear is dry I will black out the bed and blower recess and the painting process will be finished ready for decals.

Just checked my NIB which is a non chev original like yours here and it has a “clear” antenna tube.

Phew, painting is done !!
Is it as nice as I had hoped? Not really.....but it still came out pretty good considering all the issues and set backs I had with it. The stickers are all cut out ready to go, I just need to find some quiet time to sit down and sticker it up. I would have mounted the windows but after test fitting them I realised I need to polish ithe plastic a bit more.

I wasn’t going to post these till I finished the truck but I can finally put the body to bed. Now I can sit down and enjoy the build over a few nights while looking at the body waiting to be placed as the cherry on top.
Everything is original except for the chrome parts, decals, and the odd screw.

I got a fair bit done tonight, once I got started I couldn't stop. You know the I'll stop after one more step, ok, maybe the next one, and before you know it you've done 20 steps
Been fun so far. I decided to put this awesome servo in it..... as it's just for display I'm not too worried about it even though it was the downfall of many a Clod. I thought about the steering mods etc but I'm going to leave it as stock as a box of rocks.
