RC10T runner(s)
Re: RC10T runner(s)
Just the 6 gear holes and battery cup holes is the difference in drilling over the years isn't it?
The 3 hole tower has 2 camber link holes one directly above the other. Front and rear shock towers are 1/8". Chassis is B stamp with battery cup lined up in the middle as original and countersunk 6 gear holes.
The one with gold shocks has the 2 hole thick arms, 1/8" towers and chassis is B stamp battery holes drilled the same as the other one but the 6 gear holes aren't countersunk. Also has 30 deg caster blocks and later rounder style steering knuckles.
The super dirty beaten up one has a B chassis with battery cup holes originally drilled in the wrong spot and thin shock towers so I guess that makes it a pretty early one?
Here's the pics of the 3 different arms

Re: RC10T runner(s)
Also if anyone is looking for a good place to put a personal transponder on an rc10t, never know when you might be heading for the line side by side with someone
Was supposed to be racing today but got rained out

Re: RC10T runner(s)
Just noticed this new built '7001' on Ebay looks to be the same as my one with the thicker arms with front single hole and that front shock tower.

Re: RC10T runner(s)
Trinity N60. Smoked the Mamba Max with it a few weeks ago, so I had to send that off for a repair.. Dunno why it fried, didn't change the gearing or anything and had heaps of runs before on cooler days. It's supposed to have a thermal shutdown anyway.

Got the pics from that St Ives club challenge race
Left them huge because of that new thumbnail thing

Re: RC10T runner(s)
What's the black plastic piece being run over in a few of the pics? Does everyone run such hot motors on that track (9000kv)?
Re: RC10T runner(s)
Yeah people run motors that hot but they would usually run 5 cell with it. I couldn't really use full throttle anywhere, if I did it on the straight it would just wheel stand like those pics
The black plastic thing is a parma rear bumper which I put on to help stop it wheel standing, then it does a wheel stand and rips it clean off!
The jump pics have the tyres puffed out so much because it wanted to nose dive so I had to give it a jab of throttle to bring the front back up! Seem to have failed in one of those pics with it flying upside down

Re: RC10T runner(s)
Had the St Ives round of the interclub series last sunday, first round this year. We finally got around to changing the track after 20 years and it's pretty good for drivers and spare parts suppliers. There's some pics of it on http://stivesrc.org.au/
Didn't do so good this time qualified 3rd but screwed up in the finals. Was doing best in the 3rd leg but going along the back straight suddenly got a load of toe out due to a broken rear arm mount.
Car is the same setup as last year just have a Trakpower 4900 lipo now. Also have that team moo body which came with the last 10T I bought.

Re: RC10T runner(s)
Great pictures and info about the arms, I forgot all about the different ones. Seeing the pictures of that 10T ripping it up on the track, makes me want to race trucks again.

Re: RC10T runner(s)
Yeah do it!
10T's are so tough, apart from that rear arm mount which is a crap design. They have a round corner there on the team truck and T2 3 degree mounts. Too bad they're stupidly expensive on ebay.

Re: RC10T runner(s)
You can still buy the rear mounts new from AE I thing. Can you still get the RPM ones? I know you can still buy A-arm from RPM.

Re: RC10T runner(s)
Nah they only make GT mounts now. The rear arm mount seems to be the only suspension part you can't get a new substitute for. It's ok though i'll just machine some out of delrin.
