Thanks man! I was afraid the blue would be over the top, but I think it turned out nice in the end.

Wow, the blue powder coat chassis and white plastics really look good together!

What rod ends are you using?

Cheers, Dave. :)
Thanks Dave, I'm using JConcepts rod ends. They're some of nicest rod ends I've seen. I really like the bright white color.

Didn't get as far as I wanted tonight. I had to spend some time playing with the ride height and picking out the hardware. I also had to swap out the five degree caster blocks for fifteens. The five degree blocks were at too severe of an angle for the shocks to mount to. Excuse my pictures as I used my cell phone for these shots. My plastic parts are whiter than these photos show.

The MIP cranks are smooth as silk. I need to get some rods with more thread as the current ones don't allow for enough adjustment.

Hi Don,

Looking very nice, mate!

Is that a Dubro or Parma black rod end?

I like the black rod end it breaks up the white.

Cheers, Dave. :)

Looks like you need to take a drill bit to that chassis so you can tighten that servo screw.

It's looking amazing so far! I can't wait to see the finished product.

They came with the JG oval kit so I'm not quite sure. Dubro makes similar rod ends except with brass standoffs and brass balls. You can find JG rod ends on e-Bay still. They usually sell them with the heavy duty steering kits, but I've seen them sold separately too.

I had a clever reply planned until I noticed someone took my phillips version of this. I'll fix it.

I've suffered a setback I'm afraid. I bought a set of loose Lunsford rods that were supposed to be for an RC10 gold pan. I'm thinking these are probably for a worlds instead as the rear rods and two of the fronts are way too long. I'm going to have to take some measurements to find out what I need for this thing. Oh well, I expected to run into stuff like this.

Here's where I left off today. What do you think of my antenna loop? Love it, hate it? I welcome any critique or suggestions.

This is the JG rear oval body mount kit.

I'm using the re-re CVA kit.

I'll be starting on the wheel restoration soon. Not much curb rash on them so it should be a piece of cake.

Beautiful build there, I kinda like the antenna holder although I'm not sure it wouldn't create noise especially with the metal wire holding it. I would go for black ball cups all around to match the towers and set it off.

Thanks! I'll try the antenna loop and see how it goes. I was hoping it would work since the wire mount is isolated by the plastic bulkhead. If it glitches I'll just go to a normal RC10 antenna mount. There will be the motor wires passing close by so it might not work as I hoped. Took your input on the ball cups and ordered a set of the JConcepts in black. I started leaning that way after DaveM mentioned the black breaking up all the white parts. I also got my turnbuckle problem sorted by ordering the correct parts from Lunsford. Hopefully this will be the last of my problems for this build.

Thanks guys! I should have my new turnbuckles and ball cups on Thursday so this car should be rolling by the weekend. If all my electronic gear checks out I could be taking it for a spin as well. Keeping my fingers crossed!

For the antenna, you could make one from a strip of lexan. Or find a TRC #234 Stealth antenna that looks like a bent triangle and kept the antenna inside the body.

I actually missed out on a similar antenna a few weeks ago. I can always plastidip my loop if needed.
