Those wheels turned out really nice! You need to ditch that blue lock nut though. Car looks amazing! I agree with Rod on the black springs too.

I was wondering what you thought of the dhawk parts ,it's hard to find any info on them
also do you plan on making more of these chassis or perhaps making the build plans available

This is a really nice build. Topped off with some nice wheels too, although I'd put some sand tires on if it were mine. The first gen graphite front tire works nice and some paddle tires?

I love how the Tecnacraft wheels came out but I'm thinking they look too big so I might try a smaller set that will allow me to use the rear tires from a sand scorcher.



The blue aluminum nuts came from a Tecnacraft bolt kit. The body will have blue in it so they may stay or they may go.

For the price the Dhawk parts are really nice and I have a few sets of them. They do have a few issues however. The rear arm mounts work great with the Dhawk arms but on my Classic, I had to shave a bit off of the RPM arms to get them to work. The mount holes in the rear bulkhead are not tapped long enough so I had to cut the 8/32 screws a bit shorter. Outboard bearings would not fit into the 6 gear tranny case and I had to machine a few mil's off. The front steering linkage uses metric hardware and bearings.

Sweet project Shodog!! That is a cool looking tube frame and I think the paddles will look really good on there. I finally took my tube frames to a powder coater last month after having them hang in my garage for the last 3 years. Excited to get working on them after seeing your build!!

Whats Up Jim, the buggy is turning out real nice I'm not too keen on the rear tires your using but if you go with the sand scorcher paddIe i think it'll look a lot better

Nice looking build. I'm liking those paddles better than the original tires you had on there. Where did you find liquid Easy-Off and how long did you let them soak?

I've done more work to this chassis but my phone has been dead for a month so that's why I haven't posted updated pictures. I tried out the Sand Scorcher paddles and they look better on there. I just need to polish up some of the Tecnacraft outer rings. for a set of centers I have already polished in the past.

I bought the liquid easy off at a store that specializes in providing products for the food industry so I'd imagine it's packaged more for restaurant use. I let them soak for less than 10 minutes

Since everybody is bagging on my choice of tire, I submit his for your approval. The front tires are interesting. I'm sure they are associated but they have no markings on them at all.

I like those but I liked the Carsens also...looks good either way...wish that buggy looked good at my house
