I think I have gone mad, don't tell the wife.
Sorry!

That's ok I'll let you off, it'll cost you some tea, cakes and setup advice though ;)

Hmmm? Now this got me thinking....

Maybe with all Dan's racing experience over the years we could start a new thread entitled "AskDan"? :D

With his consent of course! In all seriousness, and from memory, Dan is an ex-sponsored driver so he know's a thing or two.

Dan?

Lol!

I actually used to be sponsored by Schumacher.... & from a competition point of view its only in the last few years that i've started messing about the older JRX series of buggies, prior to that I raced my XX in the mid 90s & then at the end of my first period of buggy racing in the late 90s/2000 I raced a XXX for about a season before dropping the buggies to concentrate on racing Touring Cars - on my return in 2011 I picked up where i left off with a XXX - but this time a Mid-Motored (Atomic Carbon) 'CR2'.... my current comp spec buggy is a TeamC TM2. For sure i've picked up a wealth of knowledge from being on here.... but I am a long way from being the 'oracle'!

I reckon we should have a thread called 'Ask the other Dan' - i.e Dan from Old.rc/sabulatech, i'm sure he's more knowlegable about all things Losi than I am?!

Dan,

You've probably got more general set-up and racing experience than most though. We'll have to wait and see if the 'other' Dan is interested... :)

I don't know how the XX compares but I pretty much remember my Pro SE needing very few changes from track to track. Used to love the indoor polished floors with blue minispikes at Oswestry just as much as our outdoor track at Shrewsbury, all on very similar setup. But saying that, I was more lazy than most for testing different setups out, perhaps it was just a figment of my lazy imagination it did as well as it did.

I think gearing, springs and tyres were the extent of my 'set-up' testing. I still struggle with the geometry aspect.... not that it actually matters these days
