Re: rc10 bomber
Wow, that's too bad about the motor. Did you check the timing set, or is it shot? Hopefully, you can at least get new bearings for it. I went through the Hobby King site you recommended to me. The price was great, but the shipping was a bit slow.
BTW, are those Custom Works tires? ...I basically wore out a brand new set on 2 packs last weekend, and they STILL have decent grip.
Rem, I seriously recommend that you invest in a Dremel. The set I got (model 3000) has several bits, including a wire brush that would give you the desired effect....Should be able to find a good deal at Lowes or HD this time of year.

Re: rc10 bomber
Russ, did you make the tractor? That is nice. Seat looks comfortable too! Yesm the front and rears are Custom Works.
I was beginning to get bent out of shape about the motor. I emailed the seller yesterday and didn't get any response. I check my account and realized the seller reimbursed the full amount. No comment, no email, no "send me the motor." Odd???
The motor was totally shot. I'll have to figure out how to open the can as there are no obvious screws. I'll get a big hammer and see if I can get it working proper.

Re: rc10 bomber
Yes I built it. I have a thread on it in "Other makes" http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=25203
I wasn't trying to hijack your thread, just having some fun with REM about the dremel.
Anyway, I'm glad to hear you got your money back on the motor. Maybe you can get it running. It doesn't have any timing adjustment screws? That's really odd. If all else fails, get a bigger hammer.

Re: rc10 bomber
Russ, I just finished reading the tractor thread. Too cool!
A LHS owner builds car haulers for Tamiya semis. They fit five + cars. Looking at your tractor and his builds makes me a little more patient. Really, I just wait for parts to come in the mail.
Looks like the motor is scrap metal. I tried to twist and pry the endbell off but it didn't budge. I believe it must be pressed together as there is not a screw in sight. Oh well, I got some free bullet connectors out of the deal.
Another Reedy 3300 is on the way. I will be ordering lipos and a new transformer for the charger this weekend. Also, I picked up a nice $45 B3 with Futaba RX/TX, Novak Rooster and a new 17 turn Reedy Radon. The B3 is a gift for a good friend who has given me too many cool bits and cars over the years. I will bring the Radon as a back up with the Novak Cyclone, one of my favorite speed controls.

Re: rc10 bomber
Thanks Chris...That's my baby. I had fun building it, but I don't think I'll ever take on a project like that again.
That's too bad about the motor, but the B3 sounds like a really nice project. You'll have to post some pics. I had one of those Radon motors in my TC4. Not bad for stock, but I went with a Venom 15turn instead, and put the Radon in my DS.It pushes a 2wd much better (especially with a Lipo). Which Futaba radio did you get?

Re: rc10 bomber
I always wanted a Radon motor simply because I think it has a cool can label. I just cleaned up the B3 quickly with compressed air. Looks good with no broken parts. Fortunately I noticed one screw on the slipper was missing. Other than that, no problems. It came with a Futaba T2PH TX/RX but I'll stick with the old school Magnum Junior. I don't plan on getting a new TX/RX (yet).

Re: rc10 bomber
I've always been a Futaba loyalist. Right now, I have a 2PL (AM) and a 3PL (2.4ghz). Both are basically the same, as far as adjustments. I loved my Mag Jr....had it for 16 years with no problems. I eventually sold it with a gas car.

My brother in law's 3300 had the wires short out. We did manage to get the motor open, it is not pretty in thereknucklebuster wrote:Looks like the motor is scrap metal. Rem, I will certainly take some pics. I'm glad the motor worked out too.
JK, thanks for the compliments. Was I right, is the can pressed together? Two sets of vice grips didn't budge the endbell.

Let us know how that new Reedy works. At least you got a free fishing weight out of the ebay deal. ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

Re: rc10 bomber
yep, pressed and some type of adhesive as well. we used a bench vise & a trusty persuasion tool (hammer) to open it up.
