The traditional way of using tupperware to waterproof the electronics


dean plug and motor solder to the wires


I'm happy that the flux (soldering grease) was invented, its make soldering easy

installed and ready to apply silicon to seal the holes and cover

Nice job on the waterproofing container. I actually just finished mine yesterday using a plastic project box from Radio Shack.

I'm not sure how you could have Plasti-dipped your ESC and still kept the buttons functional. Maybe cut out the holes using an x-acto knife after dipping, set the functions, then cover the holes with clear silicone?

I drop the idea of waterproofing the ESC using the plasti dip or silicon.
If someone is going to this route do not use Tamiya's esc for some reason.
Aside for waterproofing issue this ESc do not have a lipo cut off which is not good for the safety of the lipo.

To protect my lipo battery I ordered a Board Lipoly Low Voltage Alarm

Which will alarm loudly and the LED will change from Green to Red if any individual cell drops to 3.3v or below.

Another problem, I do not have an idea on how to seal this from water seepage aside from using ballon.

Indeed thats a good idea, but I know if I will follow that suggestion,
it is like giving her permission as well to buy things 3x expensive than Im planning to buy .

The Battery arrive and the Lipo Voltage Alarm

Waterproofing time once again

1. stir the plastidip
2. dip the lipo battery
3. hold for a few secconds
3. lift slowly

hang and leave for a while to let the plastidip seep.




when the plastidip is relatively dry adjust the form to mold the shape (bottom portion).



I did the procedure 2x

Are those your pics on the dipping of the lipo?

I have some PlastiDip spray, but I have never done the whole batt like that.

How did they turn out?
