Very nice ride. So what are you using for pistons/oil?

Nice looking car Jared! I actually like the yellow as it reminds me of an old surfboard that worked really well bid.

So wierd I was thinking about fabbing my own A&L link for my Newdillac and sure enough I just read your thread..

Hey thanks alot Al! Yeah I love my A&L steering, just as smooth and responsive as my b4.1 with avid crank.
I should have made it clear to Daryl that I was using the truck front bulkhead, but I just nipped and ground down the link and used the inner holes, easy peasy.

local tracks to me would be hotrod hobbies and freedom park in camarillo next to the airport. if i could do the drive all the time i could do wcrc and ocrc but those 2 tracks are a little far for me but ive raced at wcrc once and loved it.

Hey GoldRush! Welcome to the forum and cool username!
To answer a couple of your questions, yes, most of the parts used in my build can be found very easily on the interwebs.
The key here is that thanks to this awesome site, I didnt have to do all the research on what fits and what does not.
If you take a look at the Old is New thread in the Temple forum you will see that many members here did the hard work for us.
You will find recipes in great detail that will allow you to get the parts you need to modernize your gold pan like the Dynotech arms that Scr8p discovered to the axles and blocks to get you the correct width. If you ever get a chance to make it back out to WCRC hit me up, we are usually there on the weekend and always like to see more vintage racers on the track!

Jared, what did you end up with for gearing? I ran "blinky" with my brushed stock motor :), yes, I cleared the triple easily.

Hey JK!
I was running;
Tekin RS/ 17.5 combo geared 33;72 and cleared the triple for the entire 6min main. I would have placed 2-3rd but I got pit manuvered in front of the drivers stand by some crappy driver on the final lap.

did you shelf the B4 :lol:

sounds good. my OIN car is geared 30/66, with a novak SS motor (so we are off by about 1 tooth). I only ran one pack, I need to dial in the suspension, the stock CE is soooo much easier to drive. Could be better tires or just more stick time, either way, we need to meet up again and share set up notes.

LOL, yeah basically :)
I brought the b4.1 for backup, but it never left the bag because the goldie was on rails.
And yes the gearing I mentioned kept me right around 150ish with 85F* ambient temps, plenty of top on the straight with enough balls to clear the triple.
