Re: Slocarrod's RC12L's
they probably pulled it through some kind of machine that printed the letters on it. i highly doubt it's hand written. that job would've eff'n sucked.

Re: Slocarrod's RC12L's
Just noticed that wire is wrong anyway! The "Race Prep" words are closer than the one on the box art!
Maybe I will just use a Sharpie?
That wire is a dark orange right?

Looks the same to me. In the pic of the motor pod, you can clearly see the race prep under the top plate, then there's another above the middle cell on the left side. Its just rolled over and you can only catch the very bottom.

Re: Slocarrod's RC12L's
Take a look at the spacing between each Race Prep printed on the wire! Yours are much closer and/or more frequent!
Or the wire in the black and white photo is twisted and the Race Prep logo is hidden underneath

Re: Slocarrod's RC12L's
IIRC both my normal fiberglass 12 and my brothers composite 12 came with the blue label motor - I still have one that runs, but not too well thoughslotcarrod wrote:Definitely a different motor from the graphite car! Hard to tell in the black and white photo but I wonder if the label was blue or green?
Thanks for the help Brian!

Re: Slocarrod's RC12L's
So, I did some work on the Basic RC12L.
Swapped out a cut bulkhead for a new one, thanks to Rick!
And put a fresh set of OEM wheels on that came with a car I got from Jake. Thanks Jake!
Put in some Novak stuff, I just need to refurb a Novak servo and I'm good to go!
Flipped the Novak sticker on the RX! Not hard to do, just heat with a hair dryer and gently lift off with an Xacto knife!

Put a Andy's TOJ body on it!
Not quite done with this car yet, as I will put in a Novak servo and the proper linkage along with any better or correct box art parts I find along the way!

Re: Slocarrod's RC12L's
Well, I got this little gem from Jake a few months ago. A Hot Trick RC12l with a bunch of very fine parts! Here it is with the wheels off that I robbed for the basic RC12L! Hate the bumper, yuck!
I'm going to put all the hop up parts I can find in my stash on this car. I have no idea who made them!
Except the spur gear, Paranoia.
White glass axle with funky hubs, no idea!
For nice clear battery tape (so you can see the cells) I used Upgrade chassis tape cut in strips, same as 3M stuff you put on the front to your car to protect from rock chips!

Nice!
I've always wondered whether those sawblade-like Paranoia spurs ate away the pinion after a while...
