Re: 91 Masami Stealth replica (Arms Done, Mock up Photos)
I ordered a new 30 degree panel of CF and the entire chassis will be milled from the material for this build. As far as the C-hubs go, I should be able to runa pair of those on the manual mill. Looking at the pictures, it shouldn't be too difficult to pull off. The steering blocks I am unsure of just yet. Once I get the rms and the hubs done I will have to figure out the steering.
For the time being, I only plan to have the one set of arms made.

Awesome J! I think he's getting the 30 degree from the little magic elves who have been taking orders for it over the years from different collections of folks (here) and now have a stack of it gathering dust over in the back corner of the workshop.
Seriously! Awesome! I think you may need to add a bit of material right up here though...
It looks a little weak in this area.
..probably takes a bit of stress.

I guess it won't be correct without the break in the top brace huhCharlie don't surf wrote:Beat me to it!scr8p wrote:it's broke there on masami's car.

As far as the CF 30 degree kick up, I will let you guys know soonest. I have been working with the guy for a few months and I just got the word, the panel is being layed tomorrow.

I will need to see about it. I definately have the material to do it, but I need to first run the chassis from an alternate material before deciding. If I do the kick up on the top brace the front bulkhead will be super easy to machine.

Re: 91 Masami Stealth replica (30 Degree CF panel arrived)
I got my 30 degree panel in today and it is perfect for this build.
I contacted Kim from www.compositecraftinc.com to have this panel made for me. This is the same Kim from the Composite Craft we all remember. He made a 30 degree mold after talking with one of the members here on this very board. The price was very reasonable and he actually did not have the 3k plain weave material I was looking for. He went out and found the material to complete the job to my specifications.
Kim did say he is open for business for RC cars and is ready to make panels now the mold is ready. I would not hesitate to contact him in the future, his work is very high quality.
I will be running the first chassis out of a cheaper material next week so i can start on getting the rest of the parts for this build complete.
The CF panel is definately one of the things i needed for this build. It is getting closer.
