Re: How to run modern rubber on your JRX series car
that will be great as long as they keep the star pattern I dont like the rulux wheels, and they seem to go to them when makeing oddball offerings8rad wrote:I just sent a full set of original JRX-2 rims to Colin at CB Patterns. AKA JC racing products. I asked if they could reproduce the same wheel in 2.2 to fit the JRX-2/PRO/Junior 2. I will let everyone know what happens if anything.

Re: How to run modern rubber on your JRX series car
Has anyone tried the Duratrax BX front and Nitro rear rims on the JRX? These are the wheels listed in the first post of the 2.2 thread for RC10's in Temple's Tech section. I remember I used to switch between RC10 and JRX fronts back in the day so those fronts would seem to work. The rears listed require the RC10 owners to switch to the B2 cvd's as the rims are for 3/16" axles which the JRX already has. I know these wheels will physically bolt on to a JRX and are 2.2. The question is whether the rear offset is correct of not. Does anyone know?
I know these are dish wheels and not 5 stars but if we can find a vehicle that has wheels that fit then we should also be able to find alternatives for that car that will have the look desired.

I have bolted the nitro evader rears onto an Ultima, and i THINK it's a little wide. I measure close to 10" wide, which is OOS. I think the JRx2 would be similar. HOWEVER, you could look into the REGULAR evader bx wheels - NOT nitro. they look to be similar in offset to the Rulux, which are used easily on the Losi with a small outboard spacer.

the evader fronts are 9 5/8, and the back are an even 10. What are the legal limits?

I believe that 9.875 (9 7/8) is widest for ROAR. Probably IFMAR and the rest too.

hey Dave-
Was that using NITRO evader or regular evader wheels? The electric's wheels have a shallow dish, and will narrow it up a little.

Re: How to run modern rubber on your JRX series car
I have my concerns about the Duratrax wheels since so many people seem to be breaking them. Then again, the original JRX2 wheels broke like crazy so maybe it's important to keep the tradition alive! I went through many sets of those original wheels.

Just use standard B4 wheels on the back, the offset is only about 1-2mm off from the original wheels. I ran B4 wheels front and rear and my jrxPRO-SE ran great.
B3 offset wheels will "work" they will fit, but the offset is wrong and it will make the rear end too wide. and screw up the handling and looks.

1-2mm is so small. Can you even visually tell that it's off?markt311 wrote:Just use standard B4 wheels on the back, the offset is only about 1-2mm off from the original wheels. I ran B4 wheels front and rear and my jrxPRO-SE ran great.
Wouldn't front B4 wheels set in a bit too much?

Re: How to run modern rubber on your JRX series car
I believe the flanged front bearings take up the gap when using B4 wheels. If not, a small washer on the inside of the axle takes care of it.
