good perspective......i was wondering if the 22 would be to stiff with the aluminum chassis. it makes sense that the big shocks should help it out

Anyone done a before and after race temp analysis on the oil?

Honestly, in a 1/10th scale electric running 5-6 minutes at a time, shock oil temps aren't going to move much if anything at all. In a heavy 1/8th nitro buggy in a 30 or 40 minute main, sure, but not a chance in a 3.5 lb. electric buggy. No way.

And to think, we still have about 3 months of this before the car is actually in our hands.

Dustin Evans and Matt Chambers home track is where I race (MHOR RC her ein Denver) and thier 22's are quick, jump well, and look to handle really well. Big bores make a HUGE difference, I have them on my Cougar and its brought suspension tuning up to another level. Pretty soon big bores will be on any major race inspired car (Losi, Durango, Kyosho, et.) funny AE seems to be behind everyone. Right now its maybe the 4th best car out there for the average club guys.

I have one of these already on order as it so similar to my DEX410 I just have to have one. I also don't think losi pulled out a blank sheet of paper either. There are a numer of other companies "influences" in that car to be coincidence.

konich.....why do you consider the b4 4th best? i thought the 4.1 fact team fixed everything(mostly locking in the rear)......i ask because since the 22 is so hot, i'm gonna scoop up a barely used b4.1.

is this your personal rating??
1)losi 22
2)kyosho
3)tq
4) b4

It's been 20 years since a new 2wd has interested me enough to want to buy it, I thought the TRF201 would be it but no, I love the thought that has gone into this car, there will definitely be one coming my way next year.

At our track we have a number of sponsored racers from most brands. Even the AE spsonsored guys on a number of occassions have said that the B4 platform is outdated. They begged for the V2 shocks to be big bores and it didn't happen. Remember I said for the average club guys as most pro's can wheel anything. Right now my list would be

1 Losi 22
2 Schumacher Cougar SV 2
3 Kyosho RB5 SP2
4 B4.1
5 Tamiya (hell it is a B4!)
6 TQ

Really its up to you to make the car work. My list is based on me being able to get my cars setup and adjusted to my driving style. In the last 6 months I've had a B4, Kyosho RB5 SP2, and my Cougar. Each car has dropped my lap times, right now the Cougar is the most tunable for me. But the Kyosho wasn't too far off. The B4 I had to "drive on the edge" to make fast laps. Once you drive a car with Big bores you'll never look back

i was hoping (expecting) the 4.1 cured the driving on the edge issue th b4 had. my fastest laps were with a b4 but i was more consistent with my xxx cr. I felt like the kyoshos were clearly better so i sold them both.

right now the kyosho and tq car dominate and i have never even seen a schumacher.......

What's the legal wheelbase limit? The XXX Cr is listed at 10.5in and the 22 is listed at 11.24 in. My 5 link JRX2 is sitting next to me keeping me company  so I measured it and it is 10.5in. as well.

The 22 is maximum ROAR length. Even though its a longer wheel base it looks like it turns on a dime when I watch them at our local track. Evans and Chambers really have them setup well already and are continuing to develop thier setups so they will only get faster

Is this thing out yet?

No, they are saying end of March, but this is Losi (or now TLR). The JRXS Type R was due out originally in October and wound up being late March of the next year. I have one on pre-order, but I'm not counting on seeing it until the summer season is getting underway.
