Moving sucks, I would gladly take a broken or bruised rib over moving my household again

Glad you two discovered mountain biking as a hobby and errr... - get well soon :) ! I was into DH worldcup racing 15-20 years ago and was a big YETI fan. Look what i found yesterday :
img_0151.jpg
They issued a 575 25th anniversary edition limited to 250 pieces. I immediately placed an order at Jenson USA and can't wait to get more active on the cycling side again. Btw - i pm'ed you on a body.

ouch, cracked/broken ribs suck. my wife was really sick while she was about 5 months pregnant with our last child. she could not get rid of her cold, was sick for a month and was not able to take anything since she was pregnant. one night while having a severe coughing episode she felt her side pop and off we went to the hospital. she was diagnosed with a cracked rib and they couldn't do much for her cause of the baby. it did heal for her delivery but the doc's all said it may crack again while in labor but it did not. she still was sick up until the birth and they finally did a chest x-ray after she delivered and found out she had pnemonia, go figure. after she got out of the hospital like 2 weeks later she was still coughing and one night she had a nother coughing episode and she cracked another rib on the other side this time. this time was worse she went down and couldn't move at all and was screaming in pain. somehow she did make it downstairs but the ambulance had to come and pick her up, at least this time she could take pain meds. trust me cracked ribs are not fun at all

All joking aside, my mom was in town visiting us and our bigger cat crossed in front of her on her way down a small set of stairs that lead to the dining room. Well she slipped and fell onto the stairs then to the hardwood floors below (every member of our family has fallen down these steps),
anyway she either bruised of hairline cracked a rib on her left side. It took almost a year to heal fully, and the first 3 months of her recovery we no fun at all and I am sure that the flight attendant's did not fall in love with her on the way home either.

My wife seems to be Okay with the rib. The biggest problems she has are getting in and out of bed and in and out of a very soft chair. If she hurts, she doesn't show it..... I learned something new after 14 years, she is very tough and has a high threshold for pain.

Thought I would post a pic of my new rig..... also, my wife got back on the bike (willingly) this past weekend. She was slow go, but she did two trails without a complaint. We end up leaving her a bit, then just wait a few so she could catch up.

Cool :) !

Glad she got back up at it...especially on her own doing. My wife ko'd the back of her explorer with one of my daughter's quads that had a twist throttle and now I can't get her to try it again...or even try the minibike since it has a twist throttle also.

Give her an 'attagirl' from us here!

I thought this was a pretty cool pic my wife snapped of me this past weekend outside of Asheville, NC in Pisgah NF.

No, the bike is a result of residual relocation money from my current employer. :P

Time to dig this thread up again.

Anyone here watch Lifecycles? http://www.lifecyclesfilm.com/ Even if you aren't a cyclist, you should, it's more than just your stupid MTB move. This is a film very well executed.

Also, I've almost got my new bike together. I'll post some pics soon of the trio, my SCruz, my wife's and my new one.

I ended up buying an HD helmet cam and took it out for the first time yesterday. Camera angle isn't perfect (it was my first time), but vids turned out cool. I hope to do some post processing and put them up on youtube today or tomorrow. I'll post some links when I do.
