Re: ATOMIC CARBON AC10... WOW !
What is the current status of the complete chassis kit(?)? Has it been made available or sold out already?
I'd like to get one if possible...
Thanks!

Re: ATOMIC CARBON AC10... WOW !
They (Atomic Carbon/Fibre Lyte) thought they were gonna be able to re-issue those, but it seemed that the noseplate was too hefty to produce and apparently decided to not do it... I got an old one NIP hanging here around and plan to fit a 4-10 Legend kit on it...toybaron wrote:What is the current status of the complete chassis kit(?)? Re: ATOMIC CARBON AC10... WOW !
If you want a tub try pleading with Fibre-Lyte for one. The tub wasn't the problem, apart from not being able to sell many of them and needing to be individually moulded instead of just machined from their stock of flat sheet.
The problem was drilling the nose plate as the carbon had to be laid up manually, the nose plate then set up on the jig and drilled manually, which meant they couldn't be accurately done as a production item. It would mean the nose plate costing almost as much as the tub

any idea if they'd make/sell them without drilling the holes, and leave that up to the buyer?terry.sc wrote:The problem was drilling the nose plate as the carbon had to be laid up manually, the nose plate then set up on the jig and drilled manually, which meant they couldn't be accurately done as a production item. They have suggested to me they would, however I did not secure a price.scr8p wrote: any idea if they'd make/sell them without drilling the holes, and leave that up to the buyer?
Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

you'd hope they would be willing to. i know i personally wouldn't buy a tub if i couldn't get the nose plate.FERRETTI wrote:They have suggested to me they would, however I did not secure a price.scr8p wrote: any idea if they'd make/sell them without drilling the holes, and leave that up to the buyer?
what's the price for a tub?
Re: ATOMIC CARBON AC10... WOW !
$200 approx
Maybe less if we get a few). They would sell an undrilled nose the last i heard. It would be an easy enough job to clamp it to an alu item for a guide. (I have an original nose in Carbon and the holes aren't massively accurate anyway
)
I would be in for a tub probably if we do a group buy...

That tub is too great of a repro item to pass up.
Any word on whether AC started taking any orders yet on a complete set (chassis and nose plate)?

Re: ATOMIC CARBON AC10... WOW !
Right. Done that. Still seems to be unclear whether FL is 100% committed to making them, esp. given the nose plate problem. Just curious if anyone has found out anything. Guess it would be best to contact FL directly.FERRETTI wrote:If you read through the thread I think you will find the answer to thisJPAE07 wrote:That tub is too great of a repro item to pass up.
