I'm sure that everyone here would help ya find the wheels you need to start things going again. I know I sure would contribute to the cause. JohnnySr.

Hello all you wild and crazy Tecnacraft fans,

Dropped off some drawings to several machine shops on Friday afternoon. Still hunting material pricing. Going to price it with shop supplying it and with me furnishing it. May be several days before I hear anything. Just want them to give me some ballpark numbers. I am hoping that by times being what they are they are needing some work. I know it will not be huge qtys as do they. I guess I need to ask what most folks are wanting to see first. I am thinking RC-10 to start and on-road BBS style. Just has been a lot of leg work the last week trying to get everything inline.
Will keep you posted when I have some numbers.
Joe

I think you have it nailed! But I personally would like to know what styles ( when you know) you
would be producing first etc. :wink:

I want to do all 4 original patterns for the RC-10. And the BBS style for on-road wheels. Others to be decided by demand. Looks like the min run will have to be at least 50 sets. Or that is what they want to run. Wheels are the same so the inserts are the question on qtys for now.

Cost being a factor of course, but I have a "feeling" what range you may be in, I'd like to re-affirm a stake in 4 sets for the buggy

I agree that the RC10 wheels will probably be one of the most popular. I'd also suggest doing wheels for the Blackfoot/Clodbuster as I think these will be popular too in the US and more globally (I also have a vested interest in the Blackfoot ones :P ). The Sees wheels that come up on Ebay for the Blackfoot/Clod always go for some of the highest prices for those sort of wheels. I think their popularity is because they fit so well with the blingness of those vehicles....

Just my 2 pence worth anyway....

WOW! How did I miss this thread! Great news that you are thinking of re-making at least a limited run of Technacraft wheels... I too would be interested in a set for the RC10... also maybe a couple of sets of turnbuckles :)

This is my favourite design for the buggy wheels;

I know how hard it is getting low-volume stuff engineered economically, myself and a friend looked at getting a few parts made for the ever popular Tamiya Lunchbox/Midnight Pumpkin (shock bottoms etc) The samples we got were lovely & worked well - but we felt the demand could not support the quantity needed to make it even vaguely worth our time.... even with going to Chinese firms for quotes.

So what are you trying to say? That was a long time ago and maybe my dates were not exact. There is always one who will try and stir the pot.
