Thanks mate.
The Sunbeam has been in my family from new, and it was given to me as my first car when I passed my test at the age of 17. It was a pretty cool car to have as a school kid anyway! Once I began working I fully restored and tuned it and now it gets thoroughly spoiled and is well looked after.
And as for the avatar..... well that, err, smile, is one of the reasons why I married her

Hi,
What motor is in the Sunbeam?
That color with those wheels is killer!
I always say you can tell a lot about a woman just from her smile.

That's the original paint colour.
It's a well worked over Imp engine. Full race spec, twin 40 Webbers and a multi point breather system.
The engine in the Van is quite tidy also.

Abit of a update on this thing,
The registration was due recently and a i made the decision to renew it.
I was going to just move it on but figured it wasnt worth selling.
Plan of attack is to slowly get it roadworthy so I can put it on historic registration.
( for vehicles over 25 years old and 1/10th cheaper than normal registration due to limited use)
Just fitted a nice tray,
A couple pages back it was sporting a steel one with a dirty big roll bar,
While great for offroading, not very practical.
Also trying to get it looking more subtle to keep mr policeman happy.
I have also replaced the LED light bar with some IPF spotlights, and fitted a working speedo cable!

Those things command pretty big money. Looks like a fun 4 wheeler..... A V8 conversion would add to the smile factor.

Deffinately rc10th.
Its currently a diesel with a turbo kit but later on when i get a shed tall enough for a hoist ill start with a 80 series chassis for a easy swap to coil spring all round.
Then a ls1

Use to be great conversion kits for Yotas years back. 80s had grreat baysfor a 327 would fit nice and easy.

An updated photo of my yota. I was inspired by green510's truck. Rod was fortunate enough to make it on that trail run.

Cool vehicle's vintage AE!
Got a new set of wheels on and took it camping over the weekend.
Did some minor wheeling but more played around with working the rear leaf springs.
Since the swap to alloy tray over the much heavier steel one,
The rear susp doesnt work aswell as it did.
Might get some longer springs from something else or just load up the rear with heaps of accessories to weigh it down.

Why not just remove a spring leaf.
Although probably not legal in Australia converting it to a goofy leaf would help as well.
