Hey fellow enthusiasts.

I'm Blake and I Like Quake.

Duratrax that is.

I've been addicted to the early duratrax nitros since my first at age 11 in 2000.

I've pretty much became the full support guru for these models, pre chinese, is my specialty.

I’m Ray, also known to many as Bender. Bodyman and fabricator for 35 years. Father of 5 and typical grumpy old guy. I was heavy into rc’s waaaaay back in the day. I got out of it in 90-91? My kids drug me back in this past Christmas If I could figure out how to post pics I would. However I’d get lots of hate mail over broken screens so probably a good thing I don’t know how to. If it’s metal, body or paint and I can be of help feel free to ask.

Here you go.
Lowgear wrote: Tue Sep 15, 2020 3:00 am I don't have time at the moment to do a picture tutorial but here's the short version. The following is using a Windows desktop computer so it will of course be different for other devices.

When you're creating a new post, underneath the left side of the text box it says Options and Attachments.

Click on Attachments.

You can upload images two different ways. You can either click and drag them into the text box or click on the little Add files button. The button is also underneath the left side of the text box.

Once you click that, a window will open up on your computer. Navigate to where the image you want to upload is, and double click on it or single click and then click open.

When you do that, your image will upload to the site. Repeat the process for all the images you want to add to your post.

It will display the file(s) you've uploaded underneath the text box.

Finally you have two options. You can simply submit the post, and it will add the images to it automatically but it bunches them together, and is not the preferred method.

The better way is to click the Place inline button next to the image filenames, as that allows you to place them in your post however you like.
Its the same way with Android devices.

Imagine that…let’s see if this works…

It has nothing to do with RC.

That name is probably close to 20 years old. It dates back to my nitrous equipped Mustang coupe (I've had a few, and still do). It was probably best known on a forum called SBFTech, of which I was a mod with my own tech section.

Thanks man. Ya for me, the simple version is….today’s style of police work just isn’t what I signed up for.

I think it would be like telling a plumber to stop sweating pipes with a torch and start using a BIC lighter instead. And then telling him that’s how he has to sweat pipes from here on out if he wants to continue making his living as a plumber.

Something like that anyway :)

Not to get political, but your state is full of backwards thinkers. Move to Texas and come work for Texas DPS.

Thought I'd bump this. Daughter is in from her freshman year of college for fall break, so we kept the pumpkin carving tradition alive. She tried to get fancy with her eyeballs and they fell out.

Didn’t even know this thread existed!

I’m Trey! Been a member since 2014. I’m a 50 year old, married with 5 children, 3 daughters, 2 sons. 21,20,18,18 and 11, 2 hers, 2 mine and 1 ours, well all ours really! I have been a Mercury/Mariner outboard factory Certified tech, a mailman, an indipendant contractor /remodeler/custom builder, a shop manager and a GSE tech, in that order. Currently I work as a GSE technician for Southwest Airlines, which I do hope to retire from some day 😜 my wife and my kids are my best friends, followed by “some” of my family 😜 I love to fabricate… wood, steel, crafts, whatever. I’m pretty much the guy that will never pay anyone to do something that I couldn’t do on my own. If you’re family or close, I’m there for assistance or to do the work lol. I enjoy reading, bowling, coaching baseball and cars, real and rc. And I gotta mention I’m a cat person, I love my cats!

So I’ve been interested in cars and things that can be driven since my earliest memories. I have been actively involved in the rc world since early childhood. Sears renegade jeep was my first! Guessing that was very early 80s, then had a tyco MR2 and then I saw my first 1/12 scale rc car race at about age 11. Talking to the local hobby shops back then it was decided I suppose by my dad and maybe me that an off-road car would make a better first rc car for a 12 year old. So Christmas of my 12th year a got a Tamiya Fox which my dad and I built together and the rest was history…I even bought my first rc boat that summer after saving up grass cutting money. By age 14, I was actively racing with the club I first saw racing pan cars a few years earlier. From teen years to present I have raced both on road and off road, pavement, carpet, dirt, water, pan cars, touring, buggies, truggys, 2wd, 4wd and boats.

The boat thing got interesting for me, I grew up and live down here in South Louisiana and we fished and skied quite often, so naturally I got deeper into the rc boat world. About 95% of that was electric, so I was doing fast electric when it really wasn’t fast lol. Because of that I designed and build quite a few boats, even had a fast electric boat racing club back in the late 90s. Did some travel boat racing back then as well, and even held a few NAMBA oval records for a short time. I took a break from boats a few years after going brushless with everything, then lipos came to be, and after the expense of all brushless, trying to quickly transfer to lipo was a bit much, so I hit pause on boats and had my two daughters 😁

I did a little off-road while the girls were younger, but got more into real cars too. Being a big rally fan, I was drawn to Subaru and began another obsession which is awd turbo cars, but that’s another topic 😂

Over the years I also got into planes and helicopters, if a bit briefly. I design a couple small planes strictly for my self and friends, built using carbon booms and corrugated plastic, which always flew well, and were extremely durable! And of course it was the nicer more expensive pre cut only or anything very time consuming to build that Id crash or destroy lol. And helicopters, let’s say after a few, I learned to fly them, actually better than I ever could planes. Weird but oh well.

I managed to get all my kids into rc at some point, for each it was different up until my youngest and mini me was born, and he’s basically me all over, but with a dad who is into the same stuff!!

I got all the kids and myself 1/14 scale off-road cars during covid, and I set up a track in the backyard. Those little cars opened up some possibilities! LCRacing if you’ve never done 1/14 scale, cool stuff. And recently I was going through the garage in an attempt to clear some space for real car stuff and room for my present WRX project, and I pulled out my rc10 boxes and we are on rc again. Couple weeks ago my 11 year old build himself a nova fox as his first “build himself” car, and I just did my first nib rc10 kit with the Jay Halsey car!

So I guess present day me……hmmm, I have started to collect this stuff! (the tower catalogues are forever engrained in my brain lol) cars I wanted as a kid (and adult) cars I did have as a kid, but lost, sold or destroyed, and of course some obsolete charging devices and motors I’ll only look at 😂 what the heck!!

So I’m sorry for this rediculously long post, I hope you guys don’t think I’m too nuts now, but if you got a little enjoyment out of it then awesome! I gotta go start at the beginning and read everyone’s posts!

Thanks for reading, and thanks for the great forum and thread idea!!

Oh yeah…
