Here's one of my bikes that I just finished restoring a couple of weeks ago. I have an original seat coming for it and a new seat post that should have arrived by now but hasn't.

Bike rides like a dream and the Shimano DXR brakes are by far the best I've used yet.

Cool thread. I love BMX and MTB!

This is an old picture as some of the parts have now changed. But this will have to do for now. Imagine it with a different chainring (snowflake pattern) and a black stem...

Parts are a blend of old and new: S&M, Chris King, Bullseye etc :)

Just got my new "retro" '09 Haro Freestyler. Rides nice, but definitely needs some upgrades. I had to ditch the black walls for some nos Multi Surface 3s I had been saving for my Haro Master project.

Here is my 1986 Schwinn Predator Freeform EX. I have had this since I was in the 5th grade and recently finished up the restoration. It feels good to be riding my childhood bike in all its former glory.

Wow, I didn't know they put brakes under the rear triangle in 86. I thought it was much later when they started doing that.

Last week I had my first midwestern BMX craigslist score. A 1978 Roger DeCoster, complete with Skyway Tuff 1 wheels. It is pretty much all original except for the tires and grips, which I replaced with Oury grips. I went back and forth on whether to keep it, it's a really cool old bike and it doesn't take up much space. But then I found a bike that I really want so I flipped this one on ebay to fund it. The new bike is something totally out of the ordinary and unusual. I should be able to pick up the new bike tomorrow, so more pics to come!

That Roger DeCoster BMX is so nice! May I ask what you paid and sold it for?

Funny as a young boy, I never had a BMX but always wished my parents could afford one, times were hard when I was in my pre to early teens. Anyway, I would always enjoy ripping it up on my cousins! So funny enough last month, I stumbled across a Sears MX650 (circa 86?) freestyle bmx bike in the trash. Put on new tires, a chain, lubed and cleaned everything, works great even for a FOG riding it! A neighbor was outside my garage when I was working on it and offered a 99 Mongoose in rusty dirty condition for $30. I cleaned that baby up and it looks minty! He regrets it now! Also traded a vintage Strombecker slotcar set that I got for free, for a 70's Deelite muscle bike! The vintage bike ball is rolling for me now! Funny how we try to relive our youth as grown men!

I got it for $100 and sold it for $270. I thought for sure that it would go higher. Oh well. Someone got a pretty good deal I think.

Here is what the Roger DeCoster helped to fund. It's a 2005 Kona Bike Hot Rod.

Yep, 24" tires. They only made them in 2004 and 2005, and in very low numbers. I had seen one in a bike shop back then and haven't ever seen another, until I found this one on an expired craigslist ad.
