Yeah that BORMAC guy is back.....

Looks like I will have to build up a 4WD RC10 too now.... and give it a rag around Castle Hill very soon.

Nooooooooooooooooooo!

Years ago, when I was searching for Top Cat info, all of the best info was from you. So I always associated "BORMAC" with Schumacher. Couldn't you save yourself ~$120 and build a ProCAT instead? :D And do a build thread. :D

I was just thinking that yesterday. Why the heck would I buy a RC10 4wd when I could get a ProCat for actually $145 less with Amain coupon code. I'd rather have the ProCat at the same price at that. And I have a Ten4.1 project coming up soon, so that defeats getting one from AE anyways.

I vote Optima Pro for $304 with the $15 A Main Coupon. Or Optima Mid. My bias might be showing. :D

Other than the updated body and the under tray, us there any reason to pick an Optima Pro over a Turbo Optima? I don't think there is.

Battery is mounted further forward...if your gonna drive it, that's a consideration. 🤷‍♂️

Gun metal finished parts (pro) instead of gold finished parts if you prefer one or the other. Optima pro is cheaper.

On the Pro the new upper deck moves the battery forwards, although not as much difference with lipos. Biggest advantage is the upright front shock tower with the shocks mounted on the arms, the first change anyone does if they are racing an Optima. New springs front and rear tuned more for racing, but it doesn't come with the sway bars that the Turbo does.

Jeff, do this. :D Stock up the parts for ~100 Ten4.1s (or .2s if you have flare to add), and just have those on hand. If MIP does their thing, which we are close to halfway through March with nothing from them (I don't think?), then you selling 100ish kits slowly on the side while they have their time in the spotlight is no big deal. But if MIP does not do their thing, sell those ba$tards off quick and get the supply chain running! You know I am in for one!!
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Yeah I'm just going back and forth. The cost to bring the stuff in is high so if I don't sell 3/4 of it I'm in the red. Hard to justify. But at the same time I'm getting a lot of people asking.

Might be a good idea to wait until the end of March. If there's nothing from MIP at that point, then another 100 Ten4.1 kits may feel much more appealing to your interests.

On Old school RC youtube podcast on or about the 20th of march there is an interview featuring Eustace from MIP. Sooo, we should have something then.

I recall him saying he would have the prototype to show at the Hoosier vintage race, but wasn't sure it would be a runner. Based on that, I wasn't expecting a release in March. That was a couple of months ago, though.

Jeff, does the AE bulkhead with the extended rear lower mounts help eliminate the the back end chassis flex?

Any MIP info would be awesome. Seems like it's been under wraps for a long, long time. I held out too long on the ten4 kits and am passing on the AE kit. The MIP conversion is what I wanted back then but couldn't afford. Not gonna happen this time, I'm ready to throw down for it now.
Old school racing all the way!
