Now that there is a backyard smoker. Looking good Thumbs. I'll be smoking up some chicken today, burgers and dogs on the gas grill. May toss my mac-n-cheese on the smoker instead of the oven to give it that last lick of flavor as well.
You a charcoal or hardwood guy in the smoker?

I use a combination of wood and charcoal. I'll add a chimney full of charcoal and then keep a half chimney going at pretty much all times to have heat on hand. I add chunks of wood regularly throughout the day depending how much smoke I want. It's a good little smoker. I wish it were a little heavier gauge steel though. It would be a little easier to regulate. It's a lot of fun, but a lot more work than the electric!

It's about 12 years old so it's seasoned really well. I keep it covered and always empty the firebox of ash so it stays in pretty good shape thru our harsh weather.

I hear ya on the thin gauge steel. My smoker/firebox gave up the ghost. Super thin, had no chance to survive. I am talking with a local fabricator to see if he would take on making me a new firebox, with leg supports, last one was a 'dangler'. I have a backup vertical water smoker & the father in law's smoker that looks similar to that one. It has pretty good steel, but hasnt seen use in over 5 years. I ran a cycle of heat through it last night just to wake it back up
Got some chicken and corn on the cob going now. Sourdough rolls & mac-n-cheese in a little bit.

Damn that looks good.
We took the lazy man's way out tonight...took the family to Golden Choral for late lunch.
I've got a Legion meeting at 6, and it basically throws off any plans for cooking out tonight.

I'll be tossing some chicken legs & thighs on the gas grill later today. Just a plain basic bbq chicken
Did make my favorite sausage/noodle concoction for lunch. Bell pepper, sweet onion, butter, sausage saute'd up, dumped on some heavy cream & redued, then ad rigatoni...topped with cracked pepper & parmesan cheese.

It's Sunday, so you know what that means..... VEGAN BIG BREAKFAST!!!!!
Hot off the stove, here's our latest attempt..... scrambled tofu with home-grown spring onion, fried tomato, mushrooms and onions, avocado, and Linda Mac sausages, all on toasted home-made bread. Truly magnificent!
Tasted awesome......

Tasty! I did not know that it is hot wing day. Mind you, I could eat wings every day.
I have some kabobs going on the grill for tonight.
Souvlaki flavor for the first two, and sweet mango chili for the last two.
