inside the garage under a ton of flourescent lights, it does lean alot towards the violet side. but when the sun comes through the windows and hits it, the red really comes out.

and a little update while i'm typing this......

got the body sanded and polished saturday and sunday.

yesterday and today i got the top of the cowl, dash, and rear package area sprayed semi-gloss black. also undercoated the rear wheelwells. now it's ready to get dropped back on the frame.

it's been awhile since i remembered to take my camera up to the shop, but i took it today. it's been a couple months since my last pics of the maroon '68, and it getting close to being done. here's a couple pics.

well, this thing is pretty much done, so it'll be going home shortly. there's a couple pieces of aluminum and stainless trim that was sent out to be stripped and polished and hasn't come back yet. the pot metal lower trunk molding did not do very well during the rechroming process (huge blisters). so, we have to either send it to a different (better) chrome plater than the owner had sent it to to fix it, or find a nicer one to send out. also waiting for the new seat belts. it can go home until we have it all and button it then.

in the background of pic #4, you can see our next project getting started. it was supposed to be a 68 charger, but the guy (same one that owns this maroon car) decided he wanted to take a break (long story ). so after 5 68 442's in a row, go figure, now we have a 6th. but it's for someone different this time. this is what it looked like when we picked it up in new york a couple months ago. pictures don't show how truly rough it is.

i'm sure he will. we just grab one locally to use when we're working on the wiring, and getting the car running. being as though it ends up being in and out of the car multiple times, we'd rather not use one of those reproductions.
