I really want to...... but, with all the neg press the airlines are getting and the rising prices of airlines, dunno. I should have jumped on what Brandon found.

i'd be down for helping plan and promote a gtg thats more of a rockford bmx type of event.

I think that is pretty much what this is. Since this is the first year, we've got to make it that. There's racing, a concours show, and a whole bunch of people that are in to old cars, and it lasts 3 days. Sounds like R/C Rockford to me.

And, you don't need no stinking racing experience!! We all started with none, and there's no time like the present.... :D Believe me, you're not going to see my cars out on the track and think Masami is driving them. I'm just going to try my best to keep them going the right way, and inside the track. It's been a long time since I've been on a real track, I'm going to be more than thrilled if I can just finish each race I enter. I'm definitely going to need that Saturday for practice, lots of practice.

To answer the question, I'm planning to be there. I should be able to use my old car that's with the ex-gf, but if not, I'll rent something. I hoping to be there Saturday and Sunday. I think I'm probably going to race Buggy and Stadium Truck classes. I don't have a build done yet for anything, so it's still up in the air, but that's what I'm thinking of right now.

I'm a noob here, but pleeease accept me!! ;)
I am working out the details to attend this. I would be there Saturday & Sunday-- can't swing getting down there for the day Friday. I may camp with the family-- looks like Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport would be a good day trip for them on Saturday. If they can't make it, I'll probably hit the Holiday Inn. I guess I should decide soon before there's no rooms left!
It would be very cool to see some of the very nice rides on this site in person and to put some faces with the online ids!!

No secrets here-- you all will be able to see my rides several times as you go by on the track!!

I've got a 6 gear RC10-- I posted it up in the reader's rides section. I also have a Hotshot (with lots of vintage hopups) and Grasshopper/Hornet mess- all I've owned since the mid-80s. I'm not sure if I'll run all three classes, but if I'm making the trip I probably should!

I just reinstalled the old Parma dual axles on the front & rear of the Grasshopper... I'm not sure if that counts as 'open' tires.

i hope i can at least navigate the track... i've never even been to one before...

i really want to build a new buggy just for the event or take a queen and rebuild it. but i do have this:
http://pics.montypics.com/badhoopty/2007-10-07/1191777313_rc10_12.jpg
which would just need to have some better elecs. its the only rc10 i have ran more than once or twice, seems to handle pretty good, and its built sturdy enough to barrel roll on asphalt and only bend a tierod. ;)

i dont know yet about the truck class. i'll either build something based off a worlds tub or an rpm ultra molded.

whatever i do, i need to hurry up and do it so i can get some shakedowns done beforehand.

I'm running an RC10 in the buggy class, not sure what it will look like because I haven't built it yet.

And, I'm running an LXT in the stadium truck class. Pretty much box stock, with a few nice parts.

I'm hoping to have my stuff squared away in the next month or so.

I'll have a RC10 Graphite and a Yoke YZ10. As for how they'll be built up and equipped ... well ... I can't give everything away ...

i'll most likely have some sort of graphite rc10. i changed my mind about using my halsey replica, but i do plan to take it and run some laps with all of the vintage electrics.

i'd like to run at least 2 classes, just to make the trip a little more worth while. but since i have no 4wd's at all, or have a truck i'd want to use, it doesn't look like it'll happen.
