I like the name.

It may change to "rc10 bum 4s-extreme skatepark bash" later on but the name is good for now.

I don't even have it yet so no one needs to worry.

The current fever dream is to build it out 'perfect' with all titanium and aluminum hardware and a professionally painted shell with full electronics and leave it on a shelf so my one of my boys can pull a Cameron from Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I certainly won't have a 1:1 sports car for them to hoon in.

Very cool find! The car kit is indeed reasonably rare, the truck kit was released at the height of the truck racing craze and overshadowed the buggy kit sales by quite a bit. As far as making it a runner, personally I would choose something else but that is up to you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, I raced both quite a bit back in the day...

Do you happen to have a parts list of what came in the kit? Do you know the years of release?

We dropped the buggy kit from the 95 catalog so my guess would be 93-94 but would have to do some research to know for sure. I raced it pretty much stock with tekin speed control, airtronics high speed bb servo and FM radio, all lunsford goodies and a variety of motor/battery combinations. I developed the "steering enhancement kit" along with a different front shock tower, neither of which were packaged for resale or included in the catalogs but were supplied when we were asked...

A stunning find , even I'm saying not a runner ! , the add mention dyable so its very likely Nylon and I'd try Rehydrating it , just stick all the plastic bits in a bucket of water for 24 hours , it costs nothing except time .

Looks like it used to be shelf built. The transmission brace and bulk head are threaded from installation but none of the shock mounts or servo mount holes look disturbed.

It has the 3degree rear blocks installed.

4 tecnacraft ti turnbuckles and shiny mip cvds as well,
very nice !
Sure would be sweet with two pairs of black mip shocks

What kind of finish is on the screws?
These are grey aluminum screws .They aren't silver like I have seen for other anodized hardware. I have managed to get some original associated aluminum screws with the same finish. The associated part numbers are the same as the blue parts.

Does anyone know the name of the finish? Is there a generic source of these screws?

AE sourced the blue screws from fastener express. They do offer natural screws as well. Might have a look and see if those are the ones they used.

I'll have to figure out how to take a proper picture of the differences. I am beginning to think that the screws are hard coated grey.
Normal aluminum screws look like the 'Bright' finish. The screws I'm looking at are more like the 'Matte.'

It's hard to see in a picture, but it's grey and not shiny like a natural finish.

Bare aluminum oxidizes and dulls over time. Basically the same as anodizing, just without pigment. They could also have been purposely clear anodized.
