Re: Losi Mini JRX2 coming soon
Modern 1/10 scale kits sell for $319 (losi 22 5.0 regular version) to $389 (associated b6.4) with no electronics or tires. At $169 rtr this seems to me like a killer price. If they had gone 1/10 rtr we would have a $400+ car. I don’t see nearly as many people buying it.
Hell, I agree a 1/10 would have been awesome but we have to take what we can get, and this little bugger is just awesome and may lead to more (and bigger). I’m not trying to convince you to buy one, but at least don’t dog it to death causing it to fail. Try to be supportive to the companies that are trying.

Your shops sell for over “street price”? That sucks. I thought the whole idea was to standardize the pricing.Diamond Dave wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 5:52 pm 217 Canadian dollars... Shops here will probably sell for 250.
I would prefer a 10th scale as well.

Re: Losi Mini JRX2 coming soon
The price seems to be inline with the Mini-B and Mini-T.
While my opinion probably doesn't match that of the general consumer, I'd rather have seen a 1/10 kit. Then maybe sell a retro looking brushless system, like Kyosho.
But, that's me.

Re: Losi Mini JRX2 coming soon
I dig it! I just pre-ordered two of them!!
New class for the VONats?!?
I wonder if they could keep up with Lunchboxes in the 'Wheelie' class?!?
- Erich could re-name it the "David Versus Goliath" class!

Those would be a blast at vonats. I hadn’t even thought of that.

Re: Losi Mini JRX2 coming soon
I think the smaller JRX2 could be a good marketing decision. It generates some enthusiasm for their vintage products at an affordable price point. As some have said before, it's a way for the company to test the waters with regard to reintroducing their first vintage products.
I think there is less risk and more upside profitability with a replica mini being offered first followed by a 1/10th scale offering second. More people are likely to buy BOTH in this order I think.

Re: Losi Mini JRX2 coming soon
I don't see a price for hobby shops in Calgary yet, was just assuming they would tack on a profit. I will def look into what they will sell them for.GoMachV wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 6:00 pmYour shops sell for over “street price”? That sucks. I agree with all your comments, buy it! I hope to see a 1/10th version come from this. Do we know if this is a limited production?

Re: Losi Mini JRX2 coming soon
I don't want to miss the chance to buy one, I bought a few RC10 kits back in 2014, missed the worlds car, did not see any here in Calgary.

Haven’t seen anything about limited, but the free hat is for the first 400 or 200 people depending on where you read it.Do we know if this is a limited production?

Re: Losi Mini JRX2 coming soon
Ok,
So I shot video for youtube on this already but I think I am not going to publish because I think it might offend the people behind this launch. Probably should have shot with a different tone.
I think it is cool, I ordered a Jrx-Pro version for myself already.
There are some things I like, but some things I thing I don't like that may have been done on purpose or maybe by mistake.
So let me call out the things I don't like here. Some are just minor but others are I think kind of stupid choices.

- The Jrx2 body doesn't say Team Losi on any spot of the body like original. What the heck, didn't put the brand name any place on it? The Pro doesn't have Natural sticker on wing but for same reason the Junior 2 design does.
- The transmission is gear diff not ball diff, they are sintered metal though it looks like.
- The motor mount only allows a few gear settings has pre-drilled holes, no slots for motor adjustment.
- Kept the bad steering arm design that is not symmetrical. That one really is dumb and is something that makes no sense to copy.
- The rear shock cup design needed better design for the shock shaft. The original failed all the time and see no reason why this copy won't as well. No replacements parts sold alone right now, only as complete shock set. Not even a separate part number in the explode. So you get to spend $20 to replace shock cups.
- Not true to original but should have a bumper.
