Just returned from another run.
I didn't own 3s batteries before buying this truck but now have 4 packs and I mark them each time they are discharged. I don't run them in any other vehicle.
Tonight, I've totaled the marks for all 4 packs: 146 total discharge cycles divided by 2 (I run them in pairs) is 73 runs, times 14 minutes per run, divided by 60 minutes equals a little more than 17 hours total run time. Plus, I've ran a pair of 2s packs maybe a dozen times at around 8 minutes per charge. Other than the failed transmission cluster gear, the only other failure has been the plastic bottom plate for the front bumper. The truck tends to nose-down and law dart over the jumps is this very rough for the bumper. I could probably tune the rear shocks or change their mounting positions to keep the back end down and correct the problem.
Anyway, all of this to say that I'm still using the 4 supplied AA batteries in transmitter. I carry a spare set when I head out but so far I haven't needed them.
I can remember constantly having to change batteries in my old Futaba T2PKA 75mhz Tx bitd and it required 8 batteries. 18+ hours seems like an eternity for a single set of Tx batteries, doesn't it? Anyway, I keep using them until the die. It will be interesting to see just how long they last.

Re: Let's have some FUN! Losi Super Baja Rey 2.0
Well, it's been over 3 years and I'm still driving this truck and having fun with it.
HH recently posted the SBR2 discounted for Father's Day (-$220) so I've order a second truck - it arrived yesterday.
This truck was introduced over 4 years ago so maybe HH is preparing to discontinue it? Anyway, I'm shopping for spares so I'm able to keep them going long into the future.
Also, I'm trying some new batteries this time; Zeee 3s 5200mAH 80C.
If all my RC's are taken away but I'm allowed to keep only one, I think this is it.
For me, it ticks all the boxes; scale looks and driving dynamics, incredible performance and it's pretty durable.
