Re: TAG Pro 10
This is a link from an Italian forum about a Coyote restoration.
https://www.baronerosso.it/forum/automodellismo-vintage/328157-restauro-sg-coyote-2-a.html
On the second page a member named "Milan" states that he immerses the plastic parts from his Coyote and Schumacher Cat periodically in water and he's never had a problem with cracking.

If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re: TAG Pro 10
What is the best method for rehydrating the parts? Put them in a pot of boiling salt water for..15 minutes?

Re: TAG Pro 10
With nylon parts like the gear its best to use very hot but not boiling water for 4-6 hours or cold water for a few days , suspension arms you boil just for a few minutes then remove and lay flat to stop distortion , I looked into it a while ago and with nylon there is a formula to do with temp and thickness , with the suspension arms the just need to get boiled .
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re: TAG Pro 10
I picked up an optional TAG sway bar amongst a mixed lot of parts from a bloke in Italy. It cleaned up nicely as did the alloy ball ends. No mounts to attach it to the front shock tower were in the parts lot. A quick think and some scrap angle aluminium later and it was attached.
The 1700SCE Sanyo batteries and the steering rods are in.
Here's an evolutionary shot from Coyote to Pro 10. The shock mounts, shocks and front bumper are not Coyote items.Chris.

It's looking really special ! I noticed you have the steering configured differently on the two cars , do you know what the stock configuration is ?

Thanks.

I can't believe you missed the Le Mans motor in the Coyote! I know why. It's not a 480 Gold.

I admit i was working when i looked the 1st time....now i zoomed it in i see it! (I feel stupid)....and the kyosho red shocks!
480t is classic but a 480gold speaks for itself....just ask Coel
I really like the Coyote too...both those cars with the perpendicular mounted motor and torpedo cells just RULE!

Re: TAG Pro 10
All done apart from a pinion and body. Lots of period correct electronics in it now and all wired up for some heavy shelf action.
The wing's a heavily chopped Schumacher Cat XLS re-release. The wing posts are cross drilled PCB standoffs. As a bonus the anodising matches the wheels.
I'm very happy with how this has turned out and even happier to own such a rare beast.

Re: TAG Pro 10
In the optional parts list for the Pro 10 it mentions a lightweight crown gear, lightweight diff output shafts and a lightweight diff box. Fortunately, I already have the lightweight output shafts. After some searching, a pair of lightweight crown gears were found. I had to machine the diff box covers out of aluminium to finish the lightweight parts trio.
Here's the result. The lighter diff is in front of the heavier diff. The brass/steel diff weighs 43.2 grams. The aluminium one weighs 35.5 grams. Both diffs are now converted and installed. Original Schumacher cut spike tyres have replaced the re-release Schumacher tyres. Now I've got to find the optional front one-way hubs.
