Agreed,
That was my first thought. I plan on getting some bands that are a little bigger/looser. You can get them at the hardware store for about .30 each. I suppose if you never take the battery out it's fine, but I dont like keeping batteries in my cars and charging while in the car.

Sorry I've been silent on this thread, ...I actually have been really busy working on my RC10 vintage/modern build.
I was thinking during the build and decided that since my car was already way off original that it didn't really matter to use the RC World's tub I had and decided to swap the chassis w/ a "Shining Star" flat chassis I had in storage that I had wanted to use for a long time. My World's car will go back to 100% original (it is in various pieces at the moment).
However my "Vintage/Modern" build is nearly done. There were a few things that wouldn't work w/ the Shining Star chassis, the battery holder I had purchased for example doesn't work w/ the Shining Star chassis (and I don't want to drill new holes).
I have the motor and ESC in place, body is painted, ...just need to get the servo and receiver in then tweak the mechanicals (camber, toe in/out, ride height, etc).
here are some photos of the current state of this build.

LOL, I just noticed from the photos that I am missing a "c-clip" on the front left side arm. ...will have to fix that!

Thanks!
Once I get the electronics hooked up and a few mechanical things tweaked i'll be taking it to a carpet track near me to test and continue to tweak.

Well, that certainly is different kettle of fish! I did't expect that.
Love that chassis and the paint looks great.
That said, it looks really nice. Sweet build - congrats!

Thanks Chuck,
Yes, it is much different than what I started with. Often projects go like that.
I like how this is turning out and plan to get some track time either later this week or next (unless they close the track due to the Corona virus). ...in which case this will have to wait before I get any serious testing.
Still waiting for the servo to arrive then I can wrap this up.
