I haven't been looking forward to the last two "jobs" to do on this so it has just sat in a box, lol. I was cleaning up the back room and was a sunny day so I decided to finally peroxide the wheels which has turned into quite a deal, It's super slow going and trying to keep the wheels from floating is proving difficult. Also trying to naturally whiten the rims in the sun isn’t the most efficient method since the rims are so deep. Trying to find a tight fitting container also so you don’t waste much peroxide is also difficult being the rims are so big. I might try to visit a hair salon to buy a bigger quantity.

I think the remaining rims I will have to set up a UV light, and make sure the rim is tied down so it doesn’t float.

Well, I was pretty excited about this until I couldn't find a set of new wheels and stripping the body. I tried paint remover and ezy off on the body and it didn't touch it so I became discouraged

I think I'll just wet sand it, fill the scratches and paint it.

First round of wet sanding done. I will probably prime, fill, and "block" the body twice and call it good. I tried to stay off the belt line as best I could so hopefully it's still crisp :?

Funny you say that, my wife found it on the dining room table this morning and said it looks cool, and if I could leave it as is and just clear it. I laughed and said ummm... no, it still needs paint. She asked what color and I said it has to be red, she asked why red?

There was a little more to it then that but my phone is giving me the shits so I can't type enough without it freezing.

Note to self..... Don't ever use high build primer/filler ever again

While it worked absolutely fantastic on the flat surfaces it created a lot more work for myself in the way of sanding the more intricate areas. I'm not sure I made it any better at the end of the day, but it will still turn out nice. All of the scratches and dings have been filled and some of the mold lines removed. I should have just primed a few coats and sanded inbetween instead.

All that's left now is a light sand, one or two more light coats of primer, and then I can lay some red paint on it.

Here's the thingamajig I made to keep the stupid wheel from floating...... it works well.

Not sure if it's just me but the ABS plastic seems slow going compared to nylon.

No pressure RJ.... just get off your RRR and Clod up already.

Unless you'd like me to give you a hand.... that'll get it done quicker.

Everything that can go wrong has gone wrong so far with the body, It shouldn't be this difficult

I ran out of primer so I found an older can and splatter splatter

With some luck i'll have it fully prepped tonight to lay some paint tomorrow. Then we'll see just how bad of a job I've really done

Maybe it's a good thing my camera is broken and takes blurry photos......

I started to paint the body but in true fashion I ran out of paint, and it's not like I can just pop down to the local hobby shop to get more.

The body does look pretty good though so far, one more small step to becoming a Clod. It needs about 3 more coats of red paint, then clear, then black, then.............
