Actually, avid does sell a kit for the rc10.

It's up to you on the felt gasket. I don't run them on my cars and a lot of guys don't. I wouldn't pay 24 bucks for a foam one either. You can find a yoga mat in gray or black and cut your own for a couple bucks and have enough for like 10's of them

I didn't know AVID had a kit for the RC10, I always bought them individually!

yeah, i didn't either, but i think with the re-releases they added the kit. I can never remember what size the diff bearings are so that is helpful.

They have kits, but they're for the Classic and Worlds rere's. The Classis kit works fine for short arm cars and a 6 gear graphite kit. But the front wheel bearings would be wrong for a 6 gear CE with 3 piece wheels.

The Worlds rere kit, because they give the 4 flanged bearing for the bellcrank, can be used in the stealth CE's with 3 piece wheels. But not team cars with front TQ wheels. And you can use it in OG Worlds cars, but the 4 flanged bearing that are to go in the bellcrank would now be used for the rear hubs.

The bearings are still $1.00 in kit form, so your not saving anything besides time (if you can use the kit).

Yeah the kit is easy to add the the cart. Then I add some 3/8x3/16 and 5/16 x3/16 flanged.

I haven’t decided yet but will probably use the viper body and am thinking of trying to paint it myself.

Those bodies I’ve seen from Andy’s RC look great too.

I've never bought a painted RC buggy body before (I've always painted them myself) but I agree those painted Andy's Renegades posted on ebay do look great.
I have a Renegade on one of my graphite runners that I bought sometime in late '80's. It's in pretty rough shape now but it still looks good out on the track.

I kind of dig the pink and orange stripes over white in some of the pictures I’ve seen of the CE.

I thought I had read somewhere that the CE came with the Viper body which is why I was going to use one.

I just checked in the manual and it looks like this kit came with a Protech II body (#6173) and wing (#6183). The only one I can find that’s described as Protech II is from a vendor called Team Blue Groove.

So with those decals it looks like you can order them reverse printed to apply inside the body. I would assume after applying the decals to the inside you could them just paint over them while spraying the inside? That sounds too easy though...

The very late CE’s could have came with a Viper. They would stuff whatever they had in the box. I’d take a “real” Viper over a TBG Protech. The TBG are kind of a last resort type of body. They are undersize and lack detail. Don’t get me wrong, I use them and have donated plenty to them, but they are not a substitute for a body made from the original form tool

My only original CE that came with the box had a viper with it. The condition of the whole lot said to me at the time that it came with it and according to the seller it was "all original" but thats not a guarantee.

Agree with Jeff above about the TBG stuff. You have Andy's bodys already mentioned above and he has been pumping out some AE bodies as of late. I believe I seen a protech2 last week or a mirage and as of last night believe he had a viper body on ebay. His prices have raised recently but still damn good value for the money. His paint is quality and his work is very good...just don't do a custom one with him. Keep it off of ones he has already finished and on ebay to get the fastest service.

Your CE is looking great and can't wait to see it shod with some new shoes and body

I think that's the intent. Although I've never tried it before, I think applying the decals to the inside would be difficult. I have enough trouble applying them to the outside and getting them straight and with no bubbles. Sticking them to the inside would be even worse. Still, it's nice that they offer that option.
Oh, and if you decide to order a set, be sure to consider an overcoat - you'll need to specify that separately.

I wasn't aware until now that Andy's is doing AE bodies as well. I had just been noticing the Renegades and thought that's all they were doing. Now I know.
