Re: Shining Star SSC 10 Build
@YakkityYak Thank you very much. I make a variety of things, mostly small stuff. The spacers fit the Associated part number 6565 Stealth transmission case only. If your interested in getting a set, send me a private message (PM).

Thanks Nomad, we were wondering how everything went. So it's good news. Thanks for the report.NomadRacer wrote: ↑Thu Jun 14, 2018 2:00 pm I neglected to come back with a report of the trip...
The journey took me to Norfolk, VA (Sentara Heart Hospital) for my heart transplant check up. Had a nuclear stress test, carotid artery study, labs, lots of tubes of blood drawn, and a clinical visit. All turned out good.

Re: Shining Star SSC 10 Build
You guys probably know by now, I'm not one to leave good enough alone!
I made these aluminum "sleeves" to go on the ends of the wing mounts. That small step down in dia. just kept bugging me. It sort of looked like it was the wrong part to be using. I took some 1/4" round bar, drilled a 11/64" hole in the end (using the lathe) and sliced off a 3mm length, 4 times. Now the mount looks more complete.

Re: Shining Star SSC 10 Build
Wow, didn't it had been so long since I worked on this build.
I got a little bit of purple stuff installed, screws, wing buttons, battery hold down with some purple stand offs and a Trinity Monster Max 13.5 motor all dressed out in option parts!

Cool Nomad. I was wondering when you were going to get back to this build. Bet you had to blow some dust off.
What body will you use in combination with those wing mounts? Looking good!!

I've got a body I've been cutting on for a couple of days, give me a few more and I'll show you.

OK man (XLR8), this is what I have, nearly trimmed completely... Sabula Tech re-pop of a Jammin' J Jumper with the back end cut off, Wing is an Associated.
(The stand is a yoga block the I got from my local WallyWorld. It was marked down to 3 bucks on clearance

Re: Shining Star SSC 10 Build
Oh yeah, that looks great. So you left a section of body running between the wing mounts to catch the body post?
Clever use of a yoga block BTW.

Re: Shining Star SSC 10 Build
Yes, I figured that was the best way to secure the rear of the body. You can remove the body easily without removing the wing.
Yoga block works but it could be an inch or so smaller all around. I don't know if they come in different sizes... I'm not yoga qualified

Re: Shining Star SSC 10 Build
This is an awesome build. I am considering one now that I see it.
Take a look at the neoprene stealth transmission gaskets, now available on eBay in gray, blue, purple. They are the best. Car looks fantastic.
