I don't remember ultra man, but I did watch the original Buck Roger's stuff (black and white in syndication ). Watched the newer version with Gil Gerard and Erin Gray.mrlexan wrote:I will go back even further and if no one else remembers this one, then I now know I am getting old...... this is the one I used watch when I was a kid, Ultra Man:

Nope, that is your favorite red neck show again.

Re: THIS IS THE THREAD THAT NEVER ENDS...
I have been looking for 2 different show names. One was a cartoon, probably some of the first Japanese Anime to hit the states. There was 5 or 6 people and they had machines that could combine together to make one large robot. This is before Thundercats and Transformers.
There was another show that I think was like Tales from the Crypt. They do different short shows every week. I remember when the show went to commercial or came back from commercial, there was a red light bulb swinging in a dark room. The specific show I am thinking of was about a guy who was attacked in his garage or building by his kids toy soldiers.
Any ideas on either of these?

Tales from the crypt used a skeleton "moderator" who'd give commentary at the start and end. The format was much like the Twilight Zone, with a different show, storyline, cast, every week.Tadracket wrote: There was another show that I think was like Tales from the Crypt.

Right, this show was more like the Twilight Zone. Different story every week but no moderator like Hitchcock and the Crypt Keeper....Halgar wrote:Tales from the crypt used a skeleton "moderator" who'd give commentary at the start and end. Are you maybe thinking of the new Twilight Zone? Forrest Whittaker is an avid fan of the original and worked to resurrect it, but it was short lived, only a season or two before dying again. Apparently Rod Serling was the genius behind the original and whatever he did made it golden. No one since has been able to duplicate his success.Tadracket wrote:Right, this show was more like the Twilight Zone. The Jetson's dog was Astro.
There were a few "Twilight Zone...esque" shows around in the late 60s and 70s. A few that havent been mentioned are Circle of Fear, Outer Limits, something like Tales From The Darkside, and I believe there may have been a couple more.
Who actually watched FIRST RUN Dark Shadows? Barnabus was the shiznit. Now THAT was a Soap Opera.

I know yall were talking about shows with UNconnected episodes, but anytime I think about a "creepy" show, Dark Shadows theme music plays in my head.

Nah, this was waaay back. I am guessing '81-'83. Maybe '84. Think about a red light bulb swinging in a dark room. That was the "catch" to the shows theme.Halgar wrote:Are you maybe thinking of the new Twilight Zone? Re: THIS IS THE THREAD THAT NEVER ENDS...
The Jetsons dog was named Astro. Used to crack me up when he and George were on the walker at the end of every episode..."Jane,stop this crazy thing. Help Jaaannnneee...."
Could the name of the other show be"Night Gallery"?

Could the name of the other show be"Night Gallery"?

Aaarrgghh!!! Dont you just hate it when a name is right on the tip of your tongue and you hear it before you can get it out. Night Gallery is definately another I watched as a kid.SUPERDAD wrote:The Jetsons dog was named Astro.
