Inching ever forward, I have the car pretty much assembled. Nose brace tubes made, body mount/front brace made and installed. Items left to do are stick electronics down, glue up a set of tires, and oil the shocks/work on shock/spring combo. Also bend up a wing wire. the body I am planning to use was chopped off in the back, so I'll be able to run tower wire mounts instead of the tubes.

Or you could not run it yet, turn the battery cups 90 degrees using a shorty pack and put your electronic behind the shorty pack??? Just seeing if anyone else would do it too

I would Definitely try that if I had a shorty pack. I am currently using saddle packs in a row, and with the servo moved forward, my gold pan seems to be balanced well. This should be the same.

This is turning out very very nicely...

and I need a front brace on mine, too!

Yeah that front brace is a prototype, like much of the car, so I wasn't exactly sure where the body post would end up. That's why the brace is kinda wide, plus with the holes in it for the body mount, it stays strong. Also, it seems a lot of guys tend to run extra nose weight so it adds a couple grams.

she runs! Made a backup front shock tower also. It's nice when you find material you forgot you had. I found a 12"x12" sheet of this g10 material on the green side. perfect for this application. Still need to cut a wing and mount on some wire, and add some heat shrink to the CVD cup for pin retention insurance.

I'm not totally happy with the feel of the front end, but I'll be taking some tuning equipment with me. I think I know the direction I need to go. Hopefully we can get some laps in this weekend.

The body? yep, I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do for a body, and Scr8p had this one available. It just so happens, it was pretty much EXACTLY what I wanted to have on this car, so....it's kinda perfect.
