I suspected that chassis was indeed longer,..
The really hard part would be the prop shaft I guess. I don't know if there ever was a longer one on any other Tamiya chassis.

Depending on how much longer, perhaps a driveshaft from the Vajra?

Jirka, a hi-res scan would be great thanks a lot and if you do find any other pics of the car please let me know - it had a plain white body and clear wing with only decals applied - Nosram, RCM, KO, Tamiya and 'Awesome' plus some Japanses on rear wing.
The pictures in high resolution were way too big to send here, so check Your e-mail

.

TA01 hard prop shaft? Or is it too short?

Hi Guys thanks for the comments and thanks to Jirka for the scans most useful
Update on the direction of the build - I spoke with Jamie last night about the chassis and he is happy to have the car in it's standard length.
The original chassis which I took off the donor car doesn't have the correct holes for the modified rear suspension.
Gomachv (Jeff) came to the rescue and as we speak the chassis plates + top deck are en route from Oman to the USA where Jeff is going to make a chassis and top deck for the car - huge thanks for this Jeff
The chassis will be a similar shape as the LWB one which came from Jamie with the car but will be the same length as an original kit Egress - due to the LWB top deck being incomplete after the crash and the requirement for a longer propshaft (I spent some time looking and can't find any that are longer) we decided this was the best solution. Once Jeff posts all the bits back to me I will build the car back up, as you can imagine it's in 2 halves at the moment. Jamie will run this car again, likely with a brushless system so modifying an original propshaft has it's plusses and minuses.
Cheers,
Dan

Yes Aramex got the original pieces to Jeff amazingly quick and back to me again inr ecord time!
So, I trial fitted Jeff's amazing workmanship last night, the quality is amazing thanks so much! I also told Jamie that this chassis and upper deck are thicker CF so he can't break it so easily next time

I asked Masami what the Japanese decal on the wing and sidepods says to which he replied "It says Super Machine, a Japanese RC Magazine".
Can anyone help me with a scan of the logo?

You can check Masaaki's www-page:
http://www.hirosaka.co/index.php?route=product/category&path=64. There are a lot of scans from that magazine. Maybe You can find good enough scan from that page to start making decal.
