AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME

I love them lined up like that! The bodys and paint bring back memories....

also memories of my botched paint job attempts back in the day.

Good job in the GT arsenal!!

Hope I am not hijacking your thread but while waiting for those elusive Yokomo bits to come up I found myself stalled on two project cars and a little bored so I decided to try my hand at a RC10GT. Like Romulus I have a preference for one of the earlier ones with predominantly white everything. Well I managed to score the dog he seems to have been searching for  but at least it was pretty cheap all things considered.

Covered in petrol, chassis bent, parts missing, black arms and the list goes on....oh and I am going to attempt to save her lol, oh dear what have I gotten myself into. Anyways here is a shot of the before, hopefully in a couple months I will have a shot of her afterwards, trying to keep myself from building a shelf queen but we shall see

Doesn't look like a bad start, just needs a little attention. The good part is the GT stuff is usually pretty cheap. If you aren't going for a like new resto there are some decently cheap chassis on the bay right now. The other stuff shows up from time to time.

I threw a bid at that one, but wasn't trying too hard since I really only wanted the the engine. Nice score. I'm sure I'll regret not going for it when you're done with it.

Well, its better but it still needs work. These are the yellowest parts I've personally owned. I may try the peroxide on these this summer.

Still need a few things like wheels, tires, and a standard manifold. But I'm setting this one aside for the night.

Did a little bit of work this morning. Installed the electrics back in, managed to get the tires of the front wheels with ease so I slapped them on a new set of rears. You can really see the color difference in the white now.

Even though the pictures weren't that great this truck has a few good things going for it. It's very close to being 100% complete. The pretty clean CZZ. And the Paris pipe, I didn't have one of these in my collection till now. With a little more work this truck will be really nice looking.

I'm not really familiar with all the GT revisions, but was the Paris pipe a stock thing, or an after market pipe.

Aftermarket. Just one of my favorite pipes. I had a turbo ring pipe on my first GT back in the late 90's so I've always had a thing for them.
