Thanks naushad.. that shell is temporary as I have an 870C shell to paint up.. I want to get the wing for this shell though..

Coelacanth, yes indeed it says FART.. It came on the shell when i bought the car.. I'm going to remove the stickers from it but I will leave that one on there.. I got a kick out of it.. 8)

So a little update on this one.. I made some changes.. I took off the Apache shell and swapped on a Yokomo 870C shell that I had.. I also picked up the rear wing that I needed and some wing mounts.. I also put in a new front belt and got some kit tires.. The fronts aren't the "correct" Hot Laps tires but look just fine for me.. I also was able to pick up a couple rod ends for the rear to replace the bluish ones.. Not sure if I will paint this one or not.. Maybe just some decals.. Who knows.. There is only a little left to do on this and when I get to figuring out the paint I'll take some nice pictures.. Here are some pics.. Enjoy!

I'm sure yours will.. This is still an ongoing project finding little bits here and there like shock collars.. I have 2 out of 4 and looking for 2 more.. Not actively but keeping an eye out.. I'm sure you will do the same thing.. You can't find everything at once and I want mine built as soon as I can..

Thanks for the nice comment!! I appreciate it..

This thread is one of the reasons I can't concentrate on my projects. Makes me want to build one of these cars! Nice job on this one. I love this chassis. 8)

Are those wing wires original pieces, or is there a particular type of wire you use for that? I have tried sourcing some replacement wing wire, but I can't seem to find anything that is as "stiff" as the original wire used on chassis like this or the old RC10s.

@Redscampi: thanks.. it was my first yokomo I ever bought.. I never could afford one as a kid so this one is my first but now not my last..

@stickboy007: for the wing wire I used.................. rare NIP.................................. wire.......................... hanger.. .. yup.. that's it.. I tried wing wire for a JRX-2 but found it a bit too flimsy.. the wire hanger was the right thickness and was soild.. worked like a charm.. I know it isn't a "yokomo" part but it is just wire and it works..

Well I'm more interested in what kind of steel it is. I have some wire hangers, but they're a bit flimsy. I've tried music wire, but that's also too flimsy...

I couldn'ttell you what metal Iit is as it is just from a hanger from the dry cleaners.. I could measure it for you if that would help..

No need to measure.

Great looking buggy Shawn, top job. Really need to pull my finger out and find me one of these, they just never seem to come up that often over here, and i've been sidetracked too easily by too many of the works buggy's!!

Thanks _timmy_.. 870C's pop up more frequently over here.. the works buggies don't though.. I got lucky finding a Works93 in a parts lot with an 870C.. I bought another 870C and used the best parts from both to build this one and the rest are being used on my Mule project.. slowly looking for parts for my 93 but I will take some time on that one..
